The Philosophy Majors Program Academic Policies The PHILOSOPHY MAJORS PROGRAM is an A.B.

Honors Course, designed specifically for students who wish to pursue a career in Law, the Religious life, Education, and Master of Business Administration. The PROGRAM is structured in such a way as to inculcate in the students the skills of logical, analytical reasoning, and the ability to express their thoughts clearly and effectively. It is also structured to develop the students leadership potentials, and to provide a total formation leading to rich, meaningful life. General Admission Requirement a) IQ Requirement: 95-99 or CSAT: GSA -530 IR-552 b) Interview with the Admission Director Eng-583 Math-550

Conditions for Acceptance, Retention, and Dismissal Incoming 2nd Year Regular: Cumulative WPA is at least 75%, with no failing or incomplete mark. Passes at least 50% of the total items in the Reading Comprehension test. Final mark in English is at least 80% Probation: Cumulative WPA is less than 75%, but fails in not more than 25% of total units currently enrolled. Cumulative WPA is less than 80%, but fails in not more than 35% of total units currently enrolled. Passes less than 50% of total items in Reading Comprehension test. With incomplete marks. Final mark in English is less than 80%. Dismissal/Non-Acceptance Cumulative WPA is less than 75% Cumulative WPA is at least 75%, but passes less than 75% of total units currently enrolled. Cumulative WPA is at least 80%, but passes less than 65% of total units currently enrolled.

Incoming 3rd Year Regular 1. Semestral WPA is at least 75%, with no failing or incomplete mark. 2. Final marks in English and Philosophy are at least 80%. Probation Semestral WPA is less than 75%, but fails in not more than 25% of total units currently enrolled. Semestral WPA is less than 80%, but fails in not more than 35% of total units currently enrolled. With incomplete marks. Final marks in English and Philosophy are less than 80% Fails in one (1) Philosophy subject. Dismissal/Non-Acceptance Semestral WPA is less than 75% Semestral WPA is at least 75%, but passes less than 75% of total units currently enrolled. Semestral WPA is at least 80%but passes less than 65% of total units currently enrolled. Fails in two or more Philosophy subjects. Fails to meet the requirements for regular students after two probations. The Division is no way obliged to exhaust the two probationary periods. Incoming 4th Year Regular 1. Semestral WPA is at least 75%, with no failing or incomplete mark. 2. Final marks in English and Philosophy are at least 80%. Probationary Semestral WPA is less than 75%, but fails in not more than 25% of total units currently enrolled. Semestral WPA is less than 80%, but fails in not more than 35% of total units currently enrolled. With incomplete marks. Final marks in Philosophy ais less than 80%. All graduating seniors have the option to enroll in and complete a 6-unit thesis writing course, or enroll and complete a 6-unit comprehensive course.

Probation Sanctions Incoming 2nd and 3rd years Students will be deloaded of 3 units Limited extra curricular activities should not hold nor run for any official position in any club or organization should limit membership to only one club or organization. Incoming 4th year Final marks for Philosophy subjects can only be either 80% and above or 70% and below Limited extra curricular activities should not hold nor run for any official position in any club or organization should limit membership to only one club or organization. * Transferees are also subject to the above conditions.
