CA 7 - HELP FACILITY

The CA 7 General Inquiry Application provides information from the data base and queue data sets. This information can be used to investigate the data base, determine status of a task from the queues, review JCL or control cards, etc.

Commands and the information they provide are: DUMP - Hexadecimal dump of data base records FLOWL - Display information on active CPM flows LACT - Jobs in the active queue LACTR - Resource info from the active queue LARF - ARFSET information from ARF data base LARFQ - ARF activity for jobs in the queues

LCTLG - Entries from the CA 7 IDS LDSN - Entries from the DATASET data set LDTM - Analysis of requirement satisfaction lead times LGVAR - Global variable info for specified names LJCK - JCL for job (& validate if JCLCHECK installed) LJCL - JCL for specified jobs LJES - JES job # for jobs in the ACT/PRN queues LJOB - Job information LJOBR - Job resource information LLIB - Librarian or Panvalet members (read only) LLOCK - Elements that are in a locked status LNODE - Entries in the XPJOB Node Table LNTWK - Network information LOC - List catalog contents for data set

LPDS - Members of a PDS or sequential data set LPOST - Entries from the post-process queue LPRE - Entries from the pre-process queue LPROS - Prose member information LPRRN - Entries from the PRN queue LQ LQP LQR - CA 7 Queues (REQ, RDY, and ACT) - Priority info from REQ and RDY queues - Resource info from REQ, RDY, ACT queues

LRDY - Entries from the RDY queue LRDYP - Priority info from RDY queue LRDYR - Resource info from RDY queue

LREQ - Entries from the REQ queue LREQP - Priority info from REQ queue LREQR - Resource info from REQ queue LRES - Resources required by a given job LRLOG - Run log information from prior run queue LRMD - Reminder memo text from pre-process queue LSCHD - Schedule information LSYS - Job and data set information LWLB - Workload balancing criteria

2 - QUEUE MAINT The queue maintenence application allows manual queue posting to be done online via formatted screens. (The majority of all queue postings will occur automatically.) These posting screens are not available in batch mode. Multiple actions may be initiated from a single formatted screen, thus minimizing the effort required for entry.

Formatted, fill-in-the-blank, selection screens are provided through the QM menu screen. These selection screens select jobs or tasks and display a maintenence screen with which any actual updates can be made. (Each of these maintenence screens has an equivalent top line command with which the screen may also be displayed.)

THE AVAILABLE MAINTENANCE SCREENS ARE: QM - Menu of queue maintenance functions

XPOST - Status for post-processing networks (1-up) XPRE - Status for pre-processing networks (1-up) XQ XQJ XQM XQN XRQ - Queue status for job(s) (native sequence) - Queue status for job(s) (job name sequence) - Queue status for job(s) (with requirement summary) - Queue status for job(s) (CA 7 job number sequence) - Predecessor requirement posting

XRST - Job restart/resubmit XSPOST - Status for post-processing networks (2-up) XSPRE - Status for pre-processing networks (2-up) XUPD - Job attributes update XWLB - Make temporary changes to WLB selection parameters

The QM menu screen can be displayed by entering 'QM' as a top line command or as the function value on any other formatted screen. PF3 from any of the QM function screens will return to the QM menu screen. The user may switch to any other function at any time by entering the desired command on the top line. Formatted, fill-in-the-blank screens for queue maintenance functions are displayed by selecting the desired function on the QM menu screen. Screens on which maintenance can be performed are displayed by completing the fill-in-the-blank screen or by entering the appropriate top line command (e.g., XQJ, XRST, etc.).

Formatted screens that have a FUNCTION field will transfer to another formatted screen if the name of a screen is entered as the function value. QM (with no other keywords) XPOST XSPOST XPRE |,JOB= ,NW= ,SUBID= ,STN= ,FILL= | XSPRE XQ XQJ |,JOB= ,SYS= ,Q= ,FILL= ,LIST= | XQM XQN XRQ,JOB= |,LIST=ALL | XRST,JOB= XUPD,JOB= XWLB |,JOB= ,NW= ,SUBID= ,STN= ,FILL= |
