Room 6 playing 'Participate To Progress or P. to P. as it is becoming known. This game is called Categories and the aim of the game is to keep as many balls in play as possible. Everyone has a name linked to a subject, e.g. For animals Daniel was Daniel Duckegg! You have to call the persons full name out so that they know they are getting the ball. Everyone has to touch a ball. You start with 10 balls and the game goes for 1 minute each time you play.

Week 10 Term 3
Room 1 have had a great term working and playing together. A big part of our programme is about learning the skills to be able to do this successfully. Next term we have planned an inquiry based around self control and understanding others, combined with exploring and developing our talents in the arts - music, dance, drama and visual art. The teachers have recently had an exciting day together planning this and look forward to term 4, when we will begin our discovery to enhance our creative and social skills. Enjoy the holidays and a well earned break. Keep up the reading practice and dabble in a bit of basic facts to help maintain the fantastic progress. Room 7 are so excited to be sharing our learning that has happened this term at the WOW night, Myross Awards! Hope you all enjoy the night. Fingers crossed for a great day on Friday for our Senior Syndicate hike or Bike. Have a lovely holiday
Room 2 are very excited about sharing our science learning with you in our movie tonight. How exciting to be movie stars at a real theatre! We have been reading 'The Gruffalo' By Julia Donaldson, and making our own monster descriptions. We read them to each other and drew pictures of the images we created for each other. There will be books, maths goals and reading words sent home for the holidays. A little bit each day really helps maintain the great learning we have been doing this term. Have a happy and restful holiday!
Room 3 have been working hard at their basic facts and spelling and I will be sending home some work on Friday for the children to continue their good work over the holiday period. Several children have used most of their homework books up so keep an eye on the school bags for a notice about this. Certificates: Will Schuck and Charlie Warden

All the very best for competitors coming up for the Southland Development players, Olivia Fraser (Timaru) and Hannah Corbett (Dunedin)
Room 4 Tonight we are looking forward to our film night at the Civic. The children are very excited about showing their work to their family and friends. The term is fast coming to an end and I am very proud of the way the children have worked and behaved while in the Activity Centre. At this stage we are uncertain about which day we will be shifting into our refurbished classroom. It would be appreciated if your child has a box of tissues at school for their use. Have a safe and enjoyable holiday.
Room 5 Hooray, we are back in our room and it looks amazing. Will -The colours are awesome. Eilish - I am glad we have some green. Aidan - I like the feel of the walls. They're soft. Room 5 are very excited to show case our science understanding at the MMA awards tonight. We look forward to seeing you there. Have a safe and enjoyable holiday :-) Room 6 Last week of term and we're finally moving house... or classroom anyway! It has been a great term full of fun learning. The children have loved the science inquiry, which has involved them being really hands on with their learning. I have got a holiday request for any parents (and children) that can spare an hour or so. We will be moving back into our class at some stage of the holidays and I would love a hand or 5! I will email everyone a couple of days before d-day and if you can make it at the organised time that would be great. There is no pressure on this whatsoever. Thanks, Hamish
Aviary:
Urgent: We are looking for someone to help care for the aviary during the holidays. It means 2 or 3 trips only if we get a couple of families. Please contact Irene at the office as soon as possible. Thank you.
Room 8 are really looking forward to the Senior Big Morning Out. We will be filling out some R.A.Ms forms before we leave to ensure we have the risks identified and managed. Thanks to all the parents who have volunteered their time and/or trailers to help us on Friday. We have packed an incredible amount into the last 10 weeks. There has been some great learning involved in creating our class science documentary and they all gave a cheer when they saw it come together yesterday in class. We hope you enjoy watching it at the Civic and enjoy celebrating the term with us. See you there. Mr Herring
