Examples with the tenses


Present simple : Anny bakes a cake every Sunday. A cake is baked by Bella every Sunday. Present continuous: The student is sending an email now. Past simple: An email is being sent by the student now. Anny baked a cake last Sunday. A cake was baked by Anny last Sunday. Past continuous: The student was sending an email at 10am yesterday. An email was being sent by the student at 10am yesterday. Present Perfect continuous : Martin has been studying History all morning. Present Perfect simple: Rick has won two football matches so far. History has being studied by Martin Rick so far. Two football matches have been won byall morning. Past Perfect simple: I had done my homework before I went to bed. My homework had been done before I went to bed.

Past Perfect continuous: Dorothy had been cooking the dinner when I came into the kitchen. The dinner had being cooked by Dorothy when I came into the kitchen.

Future:

I will send an email tomorrow morning. An email will be sent by me tomorrow morning.

Modal / Defective Verbs: May : The Smiths may buy a new house next month. A new house may be bought by the Smiths next month.

Must : Martins mother must cook the dinner. The dinner must be cooked by Martins mother.

Have to:

Beth has to hand in the project tomorrow morning. The project has to be handed in by Beth tomorrow morning.
