to be a chattered accountant, a university degree in any discipline is required.
student must also complete coursework in a number of business-related areas,
including accounting, auditing, taxation, and economics.

for university graduates entering the profession as trainees, salaries range
between $25,000 and $50,000 a year. newly qualified chartered accountant can
earn from $40,000 to $70,000 a year. chartered accountant with three to five
years of experience can earn as much as $100,000 a year.

all businesses need accountants to analyze their financial performance, prepare
tax remittances and ensure that proper procedures are being followed. analysts
project that this occupational group will grow at an annual rate of 2.0%, which is
faster than the overall average growth of 1.4% forecast for all occupations. this
occupation is important across many industries and is effected by general trends
in the economy. on the other hand, many accounting functions, such as
preparing tax returns and financial reports, must be done even when business is
not growing.

3) what service does this organization provide?
in the start, g. k. accounting offered bookkeeping services, including monthly
remittances and payroll services. in 1991, the company decided to offer more
services to their clients such as computerization of their accounting system,
incorporation, tax planning, business consulting & customized software
development and training.
4) what is its history?
g. k. accounting & tax services started operation in 1991. however, both partners
had spent two years developing their clientele before that evaluated their skills
and their target market. kulwant maan has a background in accounting with a
degree from ryerson polytechnic institute. he had worked in numerous public
accounting firms and wanted to specialize in taxation. gurveen sidhu graduated
from seneca college with a diploma in accounting and business administration.
she had also worked with accounting firms but decided to pursue the computer
side of accounting. she is a self-taught computer consultant and she has
developed a fully integrated accounting package.

the related course is financial accounting (baf3mc). as well i studied math,
english, sci e n c e a n d s o c i a l

b e c o m i n g a n a c c o u n t a n t .

2) what is your job description?


most of the time i deal with clients, answer the telephone, messages, photocopy,
fax and sometimes i prepare mailing for the company. in addition, i verify client
lists and enter data in the computer.
3) how do you observe health and safety issues at the work placement? (at
least 3 rules)
close to the office room there is fire exit door and also there is extinguisher in the
case of fire. in emergency, mr. mann says i can call 911. i am not allowed to lift
heavy box and running in hallway (slippery) is not allowed either.
4) how are employment standards and human rights laws applied in this
workplace? (at least 2 rules)
- males and females are treated equally
- no discrimination
- worker are allow take break whenever they want.
- owner pay to his employee’s more than standard act is required

1) the "language in the workplace assignment" was useful in that at the
workplace?
it helped me to communicate with clients and my supervisor. i understand things
quickly and easily. it helped me to improve my pronunciation and my oral
communication skill.
