EPABX - USER MANUAL


Using Hands-free

Digital Instrument In your telephone, you can use the built-in microphone and speaker
instead of the handset. At any time during a call, you can switch to the
handset by picking it up. You can also mute your microphone so that
other party cannot hear you speaking.

To use Hands-free on a call:


1. Press Speaker or Intercom key instead of picking up
your handset.
2. Press RLS to end your call.

To mute a hands-free call:


1. Press Mute .
2. Press it again and return to the two-way conversation.

To switch from the hand-set to Hands-free:


1. Press Speaker.
2. Hang up the handset.

Analog Instrument 1. Press Speaker key (depends on the model of the instrument)

Last Number Re-dial Last Number Re-dial allows you to automatically re-dial the last
Number you dialed.

Digital Instrument To use Last Number Re-dial:


1. Lift hand-set and press Intercom key or in Handsomer mode
press
Intercom key twice.

Analog Instrument 1. Press Redial key (depends on the model of the instrument).

Transferring Calls

Digital Instrument To transfer a call to another extension:


1. Press Transfer key, other party is on hold and you hear dial tone
2. Dial the extension that you want to transfer the call to.
3. Press Transfer again, either when you hear ring or after
You talk privately to the person you are transferring the call to.
4. If the extension to which you are transferring the call is busy,
press RLS and then press Intercom to get back to original call.

Analog Instrument To transfer a call to another extension:


1. Press Flash or hook-flash the cradle, other party is on hold
and you hear dial tone.
2. Dial the extension that you want to transfer the call to.
3. Hang-up when you hear ringing or after you talk privately to the
person you are transferring the call to.

Call Waiting if you receive another call when you are already on a call, Call
Waiting lets you put your current call on hold, allowing you to answer
the second call.

Digital Instrument To answer an incoming call during a telephone call:


1. Press Call Wait key (if key is programmed) to answer the

Incoming call.
To return to your first telephone call:
1. Press Intercom key associated with the first call.

Analog Instrument To answer an incoming call during a telephone call:

1. You will hear a bip bip. Tone indicating that a call is waiting. 2.
Press Flash or hook-flash the cradle to answer the incoming
call.
To return to your first telephone call:
1. Press Flash or hook-flash the cradle to go back to first call.

Note: This is optional feature, contact help desk for enabling this feature
for your extension. When this feature is enabled and you are busy on a call,
some one who is calling you will get a ring back tone and you will get a short
beeps.

Call Pickup Using Call Pickup, you can answer a ringing telephone in your Pickup
Group.

Digital Instrument To answer a ringing call in your own Call Pickup group:
1. Lift the handset or press Handsfree.
2. Press 11.
Analog Instrument to answer a ringing call in your own Call Pickup group:
1. Lift the handset.
2. Press 11.

Ring Again If you receive a busy signal when trying to reach someone,
‘Ring again’ automatically re-dials that number and let you
know when that person is free.

Digital Instrument To use Ring Again :


1. When you are calling a number, display shows “Destination
Busy, activate ring again?” Press Ring Again Key.
2. When you hear the Ring Again tone, press Intercom.
3. Press Ring Again to automatically dial the number.

To cancel Ring Again:


1. Press Ring Again.

Analog Instrument To use Ring Again:


1. Press Flash or hook-flash the cradle and then dial 12 when
you get a ‘fast’ busy signal.
2. When your telephone rings (distinct ring tone) lift handset.
3. System automatically dials the number.
To cancel Ring Again:
1. Press dial 16.

Conference you can set up a conference for up to 6 parties, including


Yourself.

1. While on a call, press Conference key. The other party is on hold


and you hear the dial tone.
2. Dial the number of a third party to add. When the call is
answered, you may talk privately with the third party.
3. Press Conference key again to include all three parties.
4. If necessary, repeat the procedure to include up to
6 parties in the conference.

Analog Instrument To set up a conference:


1. While on a call, press Flash or hook-flash the cradle. Other
party is on hold and you hear the dial tone.
2. Dial the number of a third party to add. When the call is
answered, you may talk privately with the third party.
3. Press Flash or hook-flash the cradle again to include all three
parties.
4. If necessary, repeat the procedure to include up to
6 parties in the conference.

Note: If one or more the party(s) drops out of conference, rest can continue to
converse.

Auto Dial Auto Dial lets you program a specific telephone number by pressing
A feature key.

Digital Instrument To store an Auto Dial Number:


1. Without lifting the handset, press Auto Dial. The associated
flashes.
2. Dial the number.
3. Press Auto Dial again.

To use Auto Dial:


1. Press Intercom key or lift the handset.
2. Press Auto Dial. The stored number is dialed automatically.

Analog Instrument NA

Call Forward Call forward allows you to send your calls to another extension.

Digital Instrument To forward your calls:


1. Press Forward key. The flashes.
2. Dial the extension that you want to forward your calls to.
3. Press Forward key again. The remains on.

To cancel forwarding:
1. Press Forward key. The turns off.
To reinstate Call forward to the same number:
1. Press Forward key twice. The turns on again.

Analog Instrument To forward your calls:


1. Press * 4
2. Dial the extension that you want to forward your calls to.
3. Hang up.
To cancel forwarding:
1. Press * 4.

Speed call Speed call allows you to store 100 frequently called numbers with 2 digit
codes.
Digital Instrument To store a number:
1. Press Speed Call key.
2. Dial a two-digit code (for example 01)
3. Dial the frequently called no (for example-08219777)
4. Press Speed call key to save.

To use speed call:


1. Select Intercom key or lift handset.
2. Press Speed call key.
3. Dial desired 2-digit code (for example -01)
4. Now the system will dial the desired no.

Analog Instrument NA

Password Change you can change your Extension Lock & Unlock Password.

Digital Instrument To change Password


1. Press Intercom Key
2. Dial * 3
3. Dial old Password (xxxx) followed by New four digits Password

To change Password

Telephone Lock & Unlock You can lock & unlock your Telephone Instrument from making
STD/ISD calls.

To Lock Local, STD & ISD Calls


1. Press 17
2. Dial 1 and Password followed by #
3. Hang up

To Unlock Local, STD & ISD Calls


1. Press 18
2. Dial 1 and Password followed by #
3. Hang up

To Lock STD & ISD Calls


1.Press 17
2.Dial 2 and Password followed by #
3.Hang up.

To Unlock STD & ISD Calls

Voice Mial :

Digital Instrument When the message waiting lamp on your telephone is lit, it is an
indication that you have received a new message in your voice mail
box.

Analog Instrument You will get an indication on your telephone instrument. It means you
have received a new message in your voice mail box.
1. Dial 19111 to retrieve your voice messages.
