3rd Wing Inspector General Policy Purpose To be extremely consistent and persistent in a fair and reasonable manner, so that

Corps of Cadets looks and functions as the top Military/Leadership training in the nation. Also to make sure that rooms and uniforms are maintained to the Corps of Cadets Standard. Standards: ROOM STANDARDS. Cadet rooms will be clean, neat, and orderly at all times. Rooms will be inspection ready between 0730 and 1630. Clothing or other personal items will not be left outside the room, on windowsills, or in the hallways. Bicycles may only be stored inside the room or on an approved bicycle rack outside the dorm. Senior and Junior rooms must be clean, neat, and orderly. For further guidance see pages 80 82 of The Standard. UNIFORMS. All members of the Corps of Cadets will routinely wear the cadet uniform on campus. It is worn in such a manner as to be a credit to the individual, the Corps of Cadets, and Texas A&M University. All cadets in any Corps uniform are subject to inspection at any time and will comply with all of the provisions below. Generally, the uniform of the day is the Class Bravo uniform. Outfit IG chains will be held ultimately responsible for all failures in room and uniform inspections. Any failing rooms will result in a restricted weekend for the cadets living in said rooms, as per The Standard. IG chains will inspect their outfits at least once a week to ensure proper standards are being maintained. Results will be updated on the GoogleDoc provided by the 3rd Wing IG Chain. 10% grace will be allowed for room failures before ramming the IG Chain. The grading system will be used as follows: (E) Is for an excellent room and exceeds the standard (S) Is for an satisfactory room (M) Is for an Marginal room which means the room is messy (will result in two demerits) (F) Is for a failed room inspection, which means the room is nowhere near SOL. Outfits will conduct weekly SOL inspections. The results will be turned into either the 3rd Wing IG sergeant or officer no later than 1800 on Thursday every week. Failing and Marginal rooms found during outfit SOL will be reported to the outfit CO or XO and will result in one ram each. P.T. gear WILL BE WORN TO THE STANDARD OR WILL RESULT IN DEMERITS The UOD will be followed by Chapter 15 of the Standard; failure to do so will result in punishment. Being caught out of uniform while going to class will result in a restricted weekend. If you must be out of uniform for an exempted reason, a military letter will be provided. o Exemptions are as follows: Kinesiology in the previous class and absolutely no way to be in uniform prior to the next class. Injury which involves casts or braces with written documentation from doctor provided with military letter, excluding wrist braces. If a cadet is caught lying about being out of uniform, he will be sent to the honor board. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Staff Inspections

3rd Wing staff will receive random SOL inspections by the Corps IG periodically throughout the year. Weekly SOL inspections will be held by the 3rd Wing IG

Squadron 20/23/2 Weekly SOL room inspections SOL inspections will be sent to the Commander weekly.

Accountability All elements of 3rd Wings will be held accountable for their accountability at formations and Corps functions. Silver Taps Silver Taps will be attended by all members of the 3rd Wing. There will be a formal attendance sheet presented to the 3rd Wing Inspector General sergeant no later than 1200 on the second school day following silver taps. Detachments will meet in staff hall at 2215. Punitive measures will be as follows: First offense will result in 5 rams. Second offense will result in a restricted weekend. Each offense after will result in a restricted weekend. Exceptions: Military letters must be approved at least 24 hours before the event, and for tests to be excused you must provide a copy of the class syllabus with the military letter. Cadet is married and lives off campus with their spouse. Medical emergencies Tests that count for 25% or more of overall course grade the following day at 0800. University approved trips. March-ins March-ins will be attended by all members of 3rd Wing. Exceptions and consequences will be the same as applicable for Silver Taps. Formations All members of 3rd Wing will attend formations. All other elements of 3rd Wing will attend all formations or go through the proper procedures to be excused from formations.
