Part A - WARM UP GAMES PROFORMA PDHPE (students are to use one part A proforma for each of the 4 games, one page for each one)

Name of the Game: (Clear, Rain and Spray) (Walk, Jump and Early Stage1 (Kindergarten) Run) Explanation: The teacher will tell the student to spread around and start walking, when the teacher says (spray) all the students will start jumping in their place. Then when the teacher says (rain), the students should change from the jumping position to running fast while clapping in on the thighs in their place to make the sound of rain. Then the teacher says (Clear) then the students start walking again, the teacher will keep swapping between these movements in different order, the teacher will be using the whistle to grab the students attention for the next move. This exercise aims to get the children moving and for this stage it is good to show the different body movements from walking to jumping and running. It also helps them with listening and reacting to the actions said by the teacher. Why is this game important for this stage? Because it covers : Active life style: Ways to be Active (Children will develop basic skills needed for participation in other games and activities) Games and sport: Locomotor Skills and Athletics (Children will either walk, run, or jump) Gymnastics: Locomotor Skills and Elements of Movement (Children will earn and practice different step patterns with the jumping , walking running while clapping and the jumping and running that they do while they are standing in one spot. Interpersonal Relationships: Communication (Children will develop their active listening skills by listening to the teachers words that represent movements , ask questions about the meaning of the words and receive a message from the teacher. What are the PDHPE skills involved in this game? How? Skills involved are: Decision making: DMES1.3: Identifies some options available when making simple decision. As the students will make decision by choosing and identifying the movements they have to do with the world said by the teacher. Moving (MOES1.4): Demonstrates a general awareness of how basic movement skills apply in play and other introductory movement experiences. By playing and other introductory movement experiences. Communicating (COES1.1): Expresses feelings, needs and wants in appropriate ways. As the student will respond to simple instructions by responding to the teachers instructions to change the movements throughout the game Equipment and Teaching cues Equipments used: Whistle. Clapping while running when saying the word Rain will help the children to think about the sound of the rain and the sound they are making while doing the moves. Also encourage the students to participate and not stand in one place and interact in the game. Make sure that the environment is safe for the students to play and it is safe when they are jumping.

Name of the Game: Gold Pirates Stage 1 (Year 2) Explanation: The teacher will divide the class into two Groups and call them (Pirates) and (Guards). The Pirates team will have tags tucked into their clothes, and will be given a ball that represents gold. The teams will stand in front of each other with a distance between them. The Pirates team should pass the ball between them, whilst the Guard team will try to tag them, but they can only take the tag from the person with the ball and when all the children tagged then the teacher will swap the teams. This game aims to keep the children moving and it develops their communication skills. It also develops the team work in the student Why is this game important for this stage? This game is important for this stage because: Active life style: Ways to be Active (Children will learn to develop their skills to be able to pass and avoid getting tagged.) Games and Sports : Non Locomotor Skills, Locomotor skills, Games, athletics and Playing the game( The students will stretch and bend and twist their bodies to avoid being tagged, they are also going to walk and run to avoid getting tagged and catch the ball. The students will also cooperate with each other as a team and also throwing the ball from student to other. In addition to that they going to learn how to play fair and safe play.) Interpersonal Relationships: Communication , Peer, and Groups (Student s will learn communicating and interacting skills by working as a team and cooperating to win the game.) What are the PDHPE skills involved in this game? How? Skills involved are: Decision making DMS1.2 Recalls past experiences in making decisions. As the student will predicts consequences of options in order to make a decision, e.g the students will make decision by choosing and identifying the right and safe place, speed and movement to avoid getting tagged or to tag the other team. Interacting INS1.3 Develops positive relationships with peers and other people. As the students will display cooperation in group activities when working together to avoid getting tagged or to tag the other team. they will also use positive talk to encourage others by cheering to their team mates, and listen and respond to other team mates. In addition to that they will develop friendships with peer. Communicating COS1.1 Communicates appropriately in a variety of ways. Name of the Game: Kick the Stage 2 (Year 4) Ball Explanation The teacher will divide the class into two teams each team in one side of the field and every team has an equal number of balls, and when they hear the whistle each team tries to throw the balls on the other teams side over the barrier between them and they also have to return any ball hit to them by the other team quickly, and after 10- 15 minutes, the teacher will blow the whistle again and the team that have the least numbers of balls wins. This game aims to develop the students kicking skills and team work. It also aim to develop the interacting and communicating between the students. Why is this game important for this stage? This game is important because: Active Lifestyle: Ways to be active (As the students will develop their kicking skills and get practice in minor games.) Games and sport: Locomotor Skills, Manipulative Skills, Games, Track and field events and playing the game (As the students will learn new running and kicking skills, they will also practice a simple ball and running game, they will also learn about the team games and safety consideration. In addition to that they will learn about competition, fair play, safety consideration, roles and responsibilities, cooperation, and rules and tactics. Interpersonal Relationship: Relationships, communication, peers and groups (As the students will learn about trust, cpmmunicating needs and wants, listening skills, expressing and showing concerns, communication in group situation, right and responsibilities, making and maintaining relationships, type of groups, and cooperation and sharing. What are the PDHPE skills involved in this game? How? Skills involved are: Decision making DMS2.2 Make decisions as an individual and as a group member As the student will consider individual strengths and limitations when allocating group role. They will also assist the group to achieve consensus in group goal setting. Interacting INS2.3 Make positive contributions in group activities As the students will help others to achieve set task, work independently or in a group to devise a simple game, and develop friendships and support networks with a range of people. (CO) Communicating COS2.1 Use a variety of ways to communicate with and within group As the students will report on participation in games and activities to a large group and make a complaint, state a problem or disagrees in acceptable way. Equipment and Teaching cues Equipment: Ball and a Barrier Make sure that all the students are involved and that there is no cheating, and make sure that the rules are well understood by the students.

Name of the Game: Stage 3 (Year 5) Skunks Explanation: The teacher will get the students to scatter in the playing area except for two students who will be the skunks. 4 hula-hoops at the four corners of the playing area will be placed, which are safety zones. Players can stay 20 seconds in a safety zone, or until someone else steps into the hoop following them and only one player is allowed in a hoop at a time. Another hoop will be placed in the middle, which is the skunk's home. The two skunks will stay in the centre hoop. On the go signal, the skunks chase and try to through a ball on someone. If successful, they change places. The new skunk must run to the centre hoop and yell "New Skunk!" before chasing others. Why is this game important for this stage? This game is important for this stage because: Games and Sports: Non Locomotor Skills, Locomotor Skills, Manipulative skills, Games, Athletics, and playing the game (As the students will learn through this game bending, stretching, running, dodging, throwing, jumping, and feinting skills. They will learn about minor and major games, track and field events, safety considerations, teamwork, cooperation, fair play, rules and tactics, and benefit of participating. In addition to that they will learn about throwing with one or two hands and distance and accuracy from the target) Interpersonal Relationship: Relationships, communication, peers and groups (As the students will learn about different kinds of relationships, appropriate expression of feelings, expressing concerns, showing concerns for others, communication in group situations, making and maintaining friendships, peer influence, rights and responsibilities, acting on concern for others, types of groups, group membership roles, rights and responsibilities, cooperation, sharing, and changing groups.) What are the PDHPE skills involved in this game? How? Skills involved are: Games and Sports GSS3.8 Applies movement skills in games and sports that require communication, cooperation, decision making and observation of rules. As students will participate in games and sports combining strategy, teamwork, movement skill and fair play. They will also combine a series of skills for use in a game. Communicating COS3.1 Communicates confidently in a variety of situations. As the students will use negotiation skills in group activities. Moving MOS3.4 Refines and applies movement skills creatively to a variety of challenging situations. As the students will adapt throwing action to cater for different types of equipment for distance, accuracy and speed. They will also learn about varies running patterns to cater for sprinting, distance running, side stepping, dodging and defensive marking. Equipment and Teaching cues Equipments: 5 hopes, 1 soft ball The teacher should explain the rule carefully and make sure that the game is played fairly and safely
