Welcome Ever watched a comedy by yourself vs. watching with friends? The smiles & laughter are greater in community. So, smile when your group & guests arrive! Its contagious! Opening Prayer Form a circle, hold hands & ask God to move in all your hearts tonight! Open the door for God to work & trust Him.

Family Time What do you do that makes your mom & dad happy? Your actions can be pleasing to your parents...or NOT so pleasing. In the same way, Our actions can please God...or NOT. What do you do that makes God happy? Dont think about a pink elephant right now. (repeat the statement) Its nearly impossible to get your mind off of pink elephants now, isnt it? The Bible says that if we set our minds on the Spirit, then we will probably live in a way that pleases God. How can you keep God on your mind more often? (Ex. read the Bible, pray, go to church, S.S. class, Merge, talk about God with others). If you think more about God, how will that affect your relationship with others?. Kids Time Play Follow the Leader with a twist. Choose a leader, but everyone has to do the opposite of what they do. If the stand up, everyone sits. If they stand still, everyone wiggles. It might be confusing or it could be crazy fun for the group, but it will be no fun for the leader. The Holy Spirit lives in every Christian & He wants us to follow His lead. When we dont, the Bible says it grieves the Holy Spirit. Lets follow the Leader & watch how God blesses us. Are you more like your mom or more like your dad? (Let the kids respond.) Did you know, that if you are a Christian, then the Bible says that you are a son (or daughter) of God. God is your heavenly Father. How can you be more like your Heavenly Father? Did you know that God lives in you? The Holy Spirit (God) lives in you & He can help you to be more like God. He can, if you let Him. Lets pray & ask the Holy Spirit to make us more & more like God. Adult Time Have you ever marked the wall to show how much your kids have grown over the years? Its fun to look back & see the change. Looking at old pictures often makes you smile & thank God that you grew out of that awkward stage. Go around the room & ask everyone to talk about the change that Gods Spirit has done in their lives over the years. Growing up, how many of you called your parents mother & father? Theres nothing wrong with calling them that, but whats the difference between father & daddy? Read Romans 8:15-16. Abba was a term of endearment, emphasis of the closeness of the relationship between parent & child. Some of you have that warm fuzzy feeling about your earthly daddy. Talk about your feelings about your Heavenly Daddy. (Does it seem irreverent to call God Daddy?) The point is that God wants to have an intimate, personal relationship with each of His kids. HE WANTS TO BE NEAR YOU! The Spirit of God, who lives in you, can remind you of that every day. Are you listening? Prayer Time Thank God for giving us the right to be called children of God & ask Him to remind us of the rights we have a His kids. Spend time praising God for giving us the Spirit to confirm over & over again that we are the children of God. Some in your group may be going through a rough time right now. Read 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 & ask the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort to minister to them in His perfect care.
