OTHER INFORMATION : OTHER INFORMATION Period of training for MTs. - For one year. SECURITY DEPOSIT Require to serve for a minimum period of 50 months for which an amount of Rs.1,000/-per month will be deducted from the salary of the trainee concerned and after completion of 50 months of service the amount will be refunded. In case of leaving employment prior to completion of 50 months of service, the amount so deducted will be forfeited.

EMOLUMENTS : EMOLUMENTS Minimum Rs.16,911 (including 30%H.R.A) during training period in E1 scale of pay(existing pre-revised). Revision of scale has been announced by Govt. which will be made effective retrospectively w.e.f.1.1.2007. CTC for E1 at the minimum of scale is apprx. 5.43 lacs per year and maximum of the scale is apprx. 13.41 lacs.(Proposed). CTC for E2 at the minimum of scale is 6.82 lacs per year and maximum of the scale is 15.40 lacs per year.(Proposed)

Slide 10: CAREER GROWTH. After successful completion of one year training, the placement will be in E2 grade. Promotion from E2 to E3 grade and E4 to E5 grade are time bound under cluster concept on completion of three years in below grade. Promotion from E3 to E4 grade is vacancy based on seniority cum merit basis. In this process, it is expected that an executive may reach up to E5 grade within 10 to 12 years. Promotion beyond E5 grade on merit-

cum-seniority basis based on vacancy. If an executive performs well, he may become Director/CMD of the company after 18 to 20 years.

Slide 12: SCHEME OF PERKS & ALLOWANCES APPLICABLE TO OFFICERS OF COAL INDIA LIMITED (Proposed). Office Memorandum No. 2(70) 08-DPE(WC) dated 26.11.2008 issued by Joint Secretary, Govt. of India, Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises, Deptt. Of Public Enterprises, the revision of pay of executives have been announced where the provision of perks and allowances to be decided by the Board of Directors subject to maximum of ceiling of 50% of basic pay and creation of cafeteria approach for allowing the executives to choose the said perks and allowances limited to the ceiling of 50% of basic pay. The following is the perks and allowances proposed for the officers along with the individual ceiling limits. Officers can choose as per their requirement not exceeding 50%of basic pay. Contd

Upon implementation of this scheme individual officer should submit in writing the list of perks & allowances he would choose for the current financial year which shall be irrevocable till end of the year. Thereafter the option should be submitted in the month of March each year, which shall be applicable for the entire financial year. 1. HOUSE FURNISHING ALLOWANCE : 1. HOUSE FURNISHING ALLOWANCE The expenditure incurred by officers for purchase, repair or replacement of house furniture and other durables shall be re-imbursed to the extent of 7 % of their basic pay per month on production of vouchers. An officer may however draw Furnishing Allowance limited to 7% of Basic Pay per month, which will attract Income Tax as per Rules.

2. HOUSE UP-KEEP ALLOWANCE : 2. HOUSE UP-KEEP ALLOWANCE Officers will be entitled to an allowance limited to 5% of basic pay for up keep & Maintenance of their residential houses. They may be re-imbursed the expenditures on purchase of curtains, wall paintings/ hangings, carpets, decorative materials cutlery etc. on production of vouchers otherwise the amount so received shall be treated as their income.

3.DOMESTIC ASSISTANCE ALLOWANCE : 3.DOMESTIC ASSISTANCE ALLOWANCE Officers for engaging Ayas, Servants to assist in day-to-day domestic affairs will be entitled to an amount limited to 5% of basic pay per month. This may also be re-imbursed on production of proof and a declaration by the officer to the effect that he has actually engaged a person and paid the amount for the purpose.

4. ELECTRICITY ALLOWANCE : 4. ELECTRICITY ALLOWANCE Expenditure limited to 2% of Basic Pay may be re-imbursed to an officer every month against payment of Electricity charges for self-consumption on production of copy of electricity bill(s). otherwise an amount @ 2% of basic pay p.m. will be paid to the officer along with his salary which will attract applicable income Tax as per rules. Officers provided with Company accommodation and paying

1% of basic as electricity charges not eligible for above.

5. Cook Allowance : 5. Cook Allowance Officers for engaging cook will be entitled to an amount limited to 5% of basic pay per month on basis of selfdeclaration to the effect that he actually has engaged a person for the purpose.

C: TRANSPORTATION ALLOWANCES : C: TRANSPORTATION ALLOWANCES

6. CONVEYANCE REIMBURSEMENT : 6. CONVEYANCE REIMBURSEMENT Officer having vehicle registered in his own name will be entitled to allowance @ 5% of basic pay p.m. for four wheelers and @ 2% of basic pay p.m. for two wheelers. The amount will be treated as per applicable Finance Rules for the purpose of Income Tax.

7. VEHICLE MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCE : 7. VEHICLE MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCE An officer owning a four wheeler or two wheeler, will be allowed an amount equivalent to 10% of basic pay for a four wheeler and 4% of basic pay for a two wheeler per month for repair and maintenance (including payment of statutory taxes and insurance premium etc.).

8. DRIVER ALLOWANCE : 8. DRIVER ALLOWANCE Officers owning a four wheeler for engaging driver will be allowed upto 5% of basic pay per month on the basis of self declaration to the effect that a driver has actually been engaged for use of the officer and his family.

9. TRANSPORT ASSISTANCE : 9. TRANSPORT ASSISTANCE Officers not availing Conveyance re-imbursement, Vehicle Maintenance Allowance and Driver Allowance or the facility of Companys Car as also not processing a motor vehicle will be paid Transport Assistance @ 5% of basic pay per month. Income Tax will be payable on the entire amount as per rules.

10. CHILDREN EDUCATION ALLOWANCE : 10. CHILDREN EDUCATION ALLOWANCE On the basis of a certificate issued from the educational Institution/ /College/School, executives may be permitted to draw children education allowance for maximum of two children at the following rates per child per month: .

11. HOSTEL ALLOWANCE : 11. HOSTEL ALLOWANCE Officers whose children are studying at an out station & residing in Hostels for their education may be allowed for maximum of two children @ 5% of basic pay per child per month.

12.PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT ALLOWANCE : 12.PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT ALLOWANCE Executives will be allowed an amount equivalent to 2% of their basic pay per month for purchase of any number of professional books, encyclopedia, manuals, journals, audio/visual aid for enrichment of their professional knowledge.

13. INTERNET ALLOWANCE : 13. INTERNET ALLOWANCE An amount equivalent to 1% of basic pay per month shall be payable for the use of Internet by the officers.

14. Re-imbursement of Professional membership Fees. : 14. Re-imbursement of Professional membership Fees. Officer will be permitted an mount up to 2% of basic pay per month for expenditures on membership subscription, conference, seminars, workshops etc. organised by professional institutions.

15. Leave Travel Concession : 15. Leave Travel Concession In lieu of LTC benefits for hometown once every year or for any place in India once in a block of four years or limited reimbursement for visit of a foreign country once in a block of four years or Encashment of LTC, Officers will be permitted to draw an amount equivalent to 10% of basic pay per month. The facility of LLTC and encashment of LTC is withdrawn henceforth.

16. ENTERTAINMENT ALLOWANCE : 16. ENTERTAINMENT ALLOWANCE An amount equivalent to 10% of the basic pay per month shall be allowed to officers for expenditures on entertainment of guests and visitors at his residence.

17. Lunch Allowance through Sodexo Meal Vouchers : 17. Lunch Allowance through Sodexo Meal Vouchers Officers will be provided Sodexo meal vouchers/gift vouchers/meal cards equivalent to an amount upto 5% of basic pay per month.

18. KIT/DRESS ALLOWANCE : 18. KIT/DRESS ALLOWANCE The officers will be allowed an amount equivalent to 5% of the basic pay per month for purchase of official dresses/shoes/winter wear, Dress material etc.

19. LAUNDRY/ WASHING ALLOWANCE : 19.LAUNDRY/ WASHING ALLOWANCE For washing and maintenance of the Dresses & other clothing an amount equivalent to 3% of basic pay per month shall be allowed.

20. MOBILE/TELEPHONE ALLOWANCE : 20. MOBILE/TELEPHONE ALLOWANCE For expenditure on personal telephone/ mobile, fax etc. an amount equivalent to 5% of basic pay per month shall be payable to officers of all grades.

21. INTEREST SUBSIDY : 21. INTEREST SUBSIDY The officers will be allowed interest subsidy to the extent of 15% of their basic pay per month for repayment of the interest of the HB loans, Motor car loans, Personal loans, education loans for children, Computer/Laptop Loans taken from a bank or a financial institution. However, depending on situation the percentage may be less than 15%. In that case the actual percentage utilized only will be counted against the ceiling of 50%. effect that interests of the loans are more than the amount of subsidy so payable.

22. GARDENER ALLOWANCE : 22. GARDENER ALLOWANCE Officers residing in their own houses or rented houses will be permitted an allowance limited to 3% of the basic pay per month for engaging the services of a gardener for gardening inside their residential premises.

23. Coal Industry ALLOWANCE : 23. Coal Industry ALLOWANCE All executives irrespective of their places of posting can claim Coal Industry Allowance at the rate of 20% of basic pay.

SECTION II : SECTION II In addition to the above allowances executive cadre employees shall also be entitled to the following Allowances in terms of Clause 7 & 8 of the Office Memorandum No. 2(70)08-DPE(WC) dated 26.11.2008 issued by Joint Secretary, Govt. of India, Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises, Deptt. Of Public Enterprises :

2. LEASED ACCOMMODATION : 2. LEASED ACCOMMODATION Company shall provide officers of M1 and above grade posted at Ahmedabad, Bangaluru, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigah, Chennai, Delhi, Guahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Ranchi and Patna the facility of leased accommodation. The ceiling for leased accommodatin will be 30% of basic pay for cities up to 50 lakh population & 40% of basic pay for cities above 50 lakh population. Licence Fee as applicable shall be recovered.

Section IV : Section IV In terms of Clause 10(iii) of Office Memorandum No.2(70)08-DPE(WC) dated 26.11.2008, Special allowance upto 10% of basic pay has been provided for serving in difficult and for fling areas. Accordingly, the officers of Coal India Limited will be provided special allowance subject to approval of the Ministry of Coal.

Slide 50: . In the event of posting in Coalfield good/reputed schools are available with Subsidized transport facility for the school children. SCHOOLING FACILITY:

: RE-IMBURSEMENT OF MEDICAL EXPENSES Unlimited re-imbursement of medical expenses incurred out side company empanelled Hospital as per extent Medical Attendance Rule.

GRATUITY : GRATUITY Maximum ceiling limit of Gratuity being enhanced from Rs.3.5 lacs to Rs.10 lacs.

CMPF / PENSION : CMPF / PENSION CMPF : 12% contribution with equal share of the employee and employer. On retirement it may come Rs.50,00,000/- as per present salary structure. Pension : On completion of 30 years of service 25% of basic plus DA.

CONTRIBUTORY POST RETIREMENT MEDICAL BENEFIT (Existing) : CONTRIBUTORY POST RETIREMENT MEDICAL BENEFIT (Existing) On payment of Rs.40,000/- after retirement Rs.5 lacs will be covered for medical treatment of the executive and his spouse besides payment of one months pensionable amount in every year for purchase of medicine without production of any document. The upper limit of Rs.5 lacs in respect of indoor treatment has also been relaxed in case of certain specified diseases. Separate provision is being proposed for post retirement medical care.

ACCIDENTAL DEATH/PERMANENT TOTAL DISABLEMENT IN MINE ACCIDENT : ACCIDENTAL DEATH/PERMANENT TOTAL DISABLEMENT IN MINE ACCIDENT One time payment of Rs 5 lacs in addition to all other benefits.

DEPENDENTS EMPLOYMENT : DEPENDENTS EMPLOYMENT In the event of death/Medical unfit/permanent total disablement, one employment is provided to the dependent of the executive.
