ThisversionoftheUproar(ver.2)hasbeenupdatedtoincludemorepadsfortheclippingdiodes,addedone formalmod,thePresencecontrol,andtwoinformalmods,theSuperDuperMidRangeBooster(SDMB) andtheFacemelter.ThePCBisslightlylargerthanpreviousversions,andifyouincludethePresenceor SDMBmod,thena125Bsizedenclosureisrecommended.Additionalchangesweremadetothetonecontrol areatobringitinlinewiththestockRiotdesign. Circuitanalysis:HeavyMetalThunder. Thecontrolsareasfollows GAIN:Thiscontrolvariesthedistortionproducedbytheeffect. TONE:Thiscontrolreducestreblebyturningitcounterclockwise. VOL:Theoutputlevel. CLIP:Thisswitchallowsyoutoselectthreedifferentclippingmodes. PRES:Thisswitchaddsapresenceboostbyaddinganadditionalcapandswitch. SDMB:Thismodallowsyoutoswitchinanadditionalcapattheinputforaneatstuckwahtypeeffect.This modwouldalsobeveryusefulwhenplayingslide.

RemoveC2andattachoneleadtotheoutsidelugofanOn/OnSPDT.Foldthatleadoverfromthe outsidetocenterlug.NowattachawirefromthemiddlelugtotheoneoftheC2padsontheboard. Soldertheleadandthewireinplace.Next,attacha10ntotheemptylugontheSPDT.Solderin place.Nowuseashortbitofwiretosolderthetwofreeleadsofthe10nand47pFcapstogether (ortwistthetwoleadstogether),solderawiretothatandattachtheotherendofthewiretothe remainingC2padontheboard.

ThePresencemodadjuststhefilteringbeforetheoutputbufferstage.Thisresultsinlessbassto
allowmoremidrangecontenttobeheard. Movethestock1uFcapfromtheC10positiontotheCPslot.Puta6n810ncapintheC10spot. WireanSPDTOn/Onasillustratedonpg.4.Notethatthepresencemodisenabledwhenthe switchisoff.IOW,inthatpositionthesignalpassesthroughthenewcapwhichresultsinlesslow endwoofinessandmoremidstocomethrough. Anyway,usingtheillustrationforthePresencemod,replaceC10witha33ncap.Inplaceofacap intheCPslot,solderina22kresistor.Thatsit!Whentheswitchisengagedtheresistorwillbein parallelwiththe33ncap.Thisdoestwothings:firstitcreatesafilterwhichresultsinadded presence,andseconditactsasabypassforC10.Thisallowsalargeramountofsignaltoslamthe frontendoftheoutputbuffer.Theactualvalueoftheresistorisnottoocriticalsmallerandlarger valueswillalsowork.However,youdonotwanttousetoolargeofavaluebecausetoomuch resistancewillnegatethebypass.Notealsothatreplacingthe1uFwitha33nwillactuallyhave littleimpactontheoverallstocktone WARNING:thismodwillresultinasignificantjumpinvolume.Beawareofthiswhenyouare testingthemodout!
