ROLE PLAY OF RAMAYAN (Indian music) Narrator: Namaste everyone!

Today we would like to present a short play from the holy epic of Hindus, Ramayana. This is the story of love, duty and sacrifice. What you are about to watch is the representation of idols It is about how to be an Idol son, daughter, Idol brother, Idol father and Idol mother. In the city of Ayodhya there lived King Dasharatha, he had three wives and four sons. Rama was the eldest and his mother was Kaushalya, Rama was banished from the Kingdom and sent to the forest with his wife Sita. Narrator: Ravan, the devil of the forest, was infuriated by Rama and he plotted a plan to abduct Sita. He sent a charming golden deer to the forest where Sita dwelled. Sita was very much attracted with the deer and requested Ram to get it for her. Sita: Oh Rama! Look! Look at that beautiful deer! It's golden! I haven't seen anything like it! Get it for me my love. If you do so, I shall vow to treasure it forever. Rama: It is my pleasure to get it for you my wife. But you must beware, there are a lot of evil spirits lurking in this forest. I shall draw a protective circle for you. (Draw a protective circle around Sita) Do not go out of this circle my love, for this is your shield against the evil spirits. Sita: I will. Go now my Rama before the deer goes too far. Narrator: Sita was left in the protective circle until... Ravana: *cough* *cough* Please! Help me! *cough* I'm dying..I need a little food..*cough* Sita: Ohh poor man...what shall I do? Ravana: Please help me...I can't move, I need some food...come here lady, help me. Sita: But...oh, OK old man, here you g...(steps out of the circle) Ravana: (Grabs Sita and abducts her) Gotcha! Now you willl be my wife Sita and Rama and Lakkshamana will be paying for what they did to my sister! Hahahaha! Sita: Nooooo! Ramaaaa!! Rama!! Narrator: Rama was upset when he returned to the empty hut and could not

find Sita there. Rama deputed Hanuman, the son of wind, to find Sita and so Hanuman flew to Lanka and found Sita cornered by Ravana's attendants.Hanuman promised her that Rama would come and save her from the clutches of Ravan. Sita: Hanuman! Hanuman: Divine Sita, your husband will soon come here and save you from Ravana, do not fret princess. Ravana: Killl that beast! Narrator: There was chaos in the forest, Ravana's men arrested Hanuman and wrapped his tail in cloth and set it to fire. With the burning tail, Hanuman jumped on all the structures of the golden lanka palace, setting it on fire. Soon enough, Rama arrived...there were flying flames, structures collided and soon enough, the Kingdom of Ravana was a sea of fire. Finally, with his prowess in archery, Rama kills Ravana with the Divine Bow. (While Narrator is talking, Indian War music playing...Rama kills Ravana) Rama's people: Hail King Rama! Hail King Rama! Narrator: Rama went back to their Kingdomand took up to throne as the king of Ayodhya.The people of Ayodhya erected Gudhi to express their pleasure for the King who embodies and teaches his people to be a good son, a good husband and a good leader of his Kingdom.
