Introduction

After Years of learning the theory about Trade Management, applying the theory in projects, an exchange program in Asia and an internship at a Chinese company, its now time for me to take and apply everything I have learned in the past four years to write a thesis for We R Asia. I have made an appointment with Jasper Delisse in his office in Boekel, we talked about what I could do for We R Asia and I got very excited to write my thesis for We R Asia.

Introduction We R Asia
We R Asia is your partner for custom made products in China. We R Asia will listen to your plans and they will change it for you into the perfect products that you want. During the production progress We R Asia will follow it thoroughly to ensure you of the perfect product. We R Asia works with a lot of different production companies, therefor the products they can offer to the customer is very broad. Most of the customers that do business with We R Asia are from Europe and they approach We R Asian when they need something made. The customers for We R Asia are very different, some are retailers and some are big manufacturers. So what kind of custom made products does We R Asia have to offer? They offer custom made products from every sector. From synthetic materials to metal, and from textile to carton packaging. Also the building of products from several materials and the assembly of this belongs to the possibilities. We R Asia is your partner in Europe and in China!

Problem Definition

We r Asia already has an establishment in Dongguan, Guandong. At the moment We r Asia produces 90% of their production in China. And the other 10% is produced in South-Korea. They do this because China is temporary the leader on technical knowledge, and they have a good logistics network. Also the wages are low. We R Asia expects that in the coming 5 years they can keep their attention in China. But what will they do after the 5 years? What if China gets more expensive, and it becomes too expensive to produce in China. What will they do then? We r Asia has given me the assignment to find out which emerging markets in Asia can possibly be the next market to settle and produce there. Example of countries that are a possibility: Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines. For every country I will examine their Strength and weaknesses. What are the best products that the country can produce. ( Raw materials, synthetic material,metal,textile, carton packaging ) After the research I will see which country/countries has the best possibility to be the next market for We R Asia.

Problem definition : We R Asia is afraid to lose customers in the future, if China gets more expensive

Main Question: How can We R Asia position themselves to keep the clients happy and stay competitive in price with the others. Sub questions : - How is the current situation from We R Asia, what are their strengths and weaknesses? What does the market look like from the emerging markets? What will We R Asia require from the countries? How is the logistic accessibility of the countries? How will We R Asia decide which countries to choose? What kind of opportunities and threats will We R Asia meet in the countries? Which business model can We R Asia use best?

Setup Thesis : The thesis will be written in English

-We R Asia data needed to make a complete internal analysis, including its financial data -Both We R Asia network and my personal network that I built up. -Articles written by people who went to those country - Research articles about the countries Im researching - I will also do some Field research by going to the Embassies of the countries involved. - Make appointments with people/companies that are already doing business in these countries.

Plan of Action
Meetup with We R Asia at least once a week to ensure that I get a good picture of the company and to be able to discuss my findings during the process of my research with my company mentor to ensure the quality, progress and results of my thesis. I want to meet with my thesis supervisor at school once a week or every two weeks to ensure the quality, progress and results of my thesis.
