Hypersensitivity. Concurrent use or use within 14 days of
discontinuing MAO inhibitors.
Common side effects
Seizures, anxiety, drowsiness, headache, insomnia,
nervousness, diarrhea, sexual dysfunction, excessive
sweating, pruritus, tremor.

Interactions with other patient drugs, OTC or herbal

Monitor mood changes, assess for suicidal
tendencies, monitor appetite, weigh weekly.
Assess for sensitivity reaction
Lab value alterations caused by medicine
Proteinuria and mild increase in AST may occur during
sensitivity reactions, May cause increase in serum alkaline
phosphatase ALT, BUN, creatine phosphokinase.
Be sure to teach the patient the following about this
medication
Take exactly as directed. If dose is missed omit and return to
regular schedule. Discontinuation may cause anxiety,
insomnia, nervousness. May cause drowsiness, dizziness,
impaired judgment and blurred vision.
