As the South Asian businesses head towards an upturn, there is a greater need than ever for engaged employees. Employees who go beyond the bare minimum (read: job description) and use their discretionary behaviour to excel at work, build collaborative teams, serve customer needs and wants and help organisations achieve growth, brand-building and profitability. Pakistani organisations are going through a double jeopardy: impact of global recession and domestic lawlessness and uncertainty. This is resulting in gross underperformance at all work levels. The conference will then look at this critical question: can we deal with growth and profitability through a more engaged workforce? If yes, how? Using the up-to-the-minute global research, the conference will address how three central characters: the leadership, the organisation and the line manager can help or hinder the employee engagement. In each of the three parts, the conference will come up with specific action steps that can be taken to engage employees for the immediate uncertainties and near-term upturn when it happens.
Conference outcomes: After attending this conference you will be able to learn these specific eight outcomes: Engaging through leadership Why employee engagement is critical at this juncture in Pakistani and South Asian contexts How top leaderships commitment to employee engagement and using employee differentiation can help achieve the apparently impossible How to focus on employee strengths, invoke decisionmaking at all levels and develop discretionary behaviour
The engaging organisation How the job content and money side of employee engagement matter, and how issues of procedural justice, workplace stress and work-life balance need to be addressed How social media and small things can impact employee engagement in a big way
Engaging through line manager The role of line manager in expectation-setting, giving ongoing feedback, discovering and developing potential and providing learning opportunities Islamic perspective on employee engagement How to measure and leverage employee engagement
Who must attend COEs and leadership teams Everyone in HR Line managers at all levels
Benefits of attending Face to face with top HR leaders and academics Substantive keynote presentations, interactive panel discussions, dealing with issues in depth (read: not at superficial level) Networking opportunity with hundreds of midcareer and young HR professionals Specially designed fellowship breaks so you could develop partnerships and create opportunities for you and your organisations Be a part of prestigious HR award ceremony: Best organisation to work for and HR star of the year
