people’s cars or engage in smuggling/ “steal” entry into

Hong Kong
economics - if we obey “Do not convet/Do not steal” then we would not
get involved in illegal financial practice
politics - people whose motivation is to make themselves more

support the government (Matt 22:15-22)
OR Jesus taught people to pay tax to the government/ support the government/ even
though they didn’t like the government (Matt 22:15-22)
- paying taxes/ supporting the government is believer’s respomsibility just as
much as honouring God is (Matt 22:15-22)
- Christians should obey the government because God has allowed it to come to
power (Roman 13:1)
OR even though the government was not ideal, Paul taught that the institution was given

by God and therefore the government should be obeyed as far as conscience allowed

(Roman 13:1-10)
- government is for maintenance of law and order to protect people so Christians
should support it (Roman 13:4)
- if government is appointed by God then Christians should trust God to deal with
bad governors
- Peter taught submission to human authorities, but not so far as to cover up evil
(1 Peter 2:13-17)

believer to enter into conflict with rulers over injustice (Exodus 3)
- Jesus taught that his followers should be like salt and light in the society, so they

money can help them do it
- the contact with the charitable organization could help the donor
become interested in work and reduce the interest in gambling
- some people often gamble because they are bored, but giving to good
causes can give then healthier interests, so the money should be
accepted

rejected
