TRAINING ON PROJECT CYCLE MANAGEMENT

Project Cycle Management or PCM is the term used to describe the management of activities and decisionmaking procedures applied during the life cycle of a project including key tasks, roles and responsibilities, key documents, and decision options. The project cycle has five components (see below figure) It is in it self a continuous process:

Content; The principles of adult learning, Teaching methods -explanation, analogy, discovery, demonstration, Teaching techniques Case studies, role play, Individual exercises or exercises in small groups, brainstorming, photo language, talks, puzzles, "post it" or Metaplan method, quizzes, games, multiple-choice questionnaire or other tests, games, etc. The training cycle-Training needs analysis, course planning and delivery, coaching and follow up; Course delivery sequence-chrono biological rhythm, icebreakers and recap techniques, Practical sessions on effective presentation skills Assessment Training 05 Dec - 09 Dec 2011 (5 # Days Residential Training) Maximum 20 Participants The module-1 covers the main issues required for a successful assessment, ranging from general concepts (types of assessments, vulnerabilities) to assessment process (preparation and objectives of an assessment, field work, assessment techniques, data gathering and analysis) and household economy approach. This module was developed in collaboration with the Federation. Objective: At the end of the course, participants have understood the assessment concept and methods and are able to conduct an assessment in accordance with the Assistance Doctrine, the Ecosec guidelines and other institutional documents.

Content: It focuses on data gathering and analysis; The Household Economy Approach: Assessment concept, Vulnerability and capacity, The assessment process (before, during, after a field visit), Essential concepts, Techniques, Interviews, Field exercises. Objective; At the end of the course, participants are able to organise and deliver a training course following the main animation rules. They are particularly familiar with the animation of the assessment module and can replicate it in the field. Participants: Selection criteria (all of the criteria needs to be fulfilled by applicant): Minimum two years Working experience with RC/RC movement Experience/active involvement in Project Management & Implementation Good exposure to disaster management & health projects Experience in development planning & proposal development Very good knowledge in English Should have good facilitation/training skills and experience

Training of Trainer (ToT) 29 Nov 2011- 02 Dec 2011 (4 #Days Residential Training) Maximum 12 Participants Objective; At the end of the course, participants are able to organise and deliver a training course following the main animation rules. They are particularly familiar with the animation of the assessment module and can replicate it in the field.
