Oracle Certification Tracks

Choose the certification path that best suits your needs. Based on the job profiles of people working on
Oracle technologies, tools, and solutions, Oracle has identified the following certification tracks:

* Database Administrator (DBA)

* Application Developer
* Web Application Server Administrator

Application Developer
Application developer is responsible for developing applications on Oracle. They should have good
knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, developing Internet applications using Form Builder, Report Builder.

This track is further divided into following:

* Oracle Forms 6i Developer Certified Professional
* Oracle9i PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate

Oracle Forms 6i Developer Certified Professional

You must pass the following exams to obtain your Oracle Forms 6i Developer OCP credential:
1. Exam #1Z0-001 Introduction to Oracle: SQL and PL/SQL
OR
Exam #1Z0-007 Introduction to Oracle9i: SQL
2. Exam #1Z0-101 Develop PL/SQL Program Units
3. Exam #1Z0-131 Build Internet Applications I
4. Exam #1Z0-132 Build Internet Applications II

Oracle9i PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate

The Oracle9i Forms Developer track begins at the Oracle Certified Associate level. Technical professionals
at this certification level have skill sets that will allow them to act as a functional Oracle9i Developer

You must pass the following 2 exams to obtain your Oracle9i PL/SQL Developer OCA credential.
1. Exam #1Z0-007 Introduction to Oracle9i: SQL
OR
Exam #1Z0-001 Introduction to Oracle: SQL and PL/SQL
2. Exam #1Z0-147 Oracle9i: Program with PL/SQL

Exam Information

Passing Scores
Oracle routinely publishes new versions of Oracle Certification exams, and the passing score across
versions may differ. The passing score for each exam is set independently to maintain a consistent
standard across versions. For example, to maintain a consistent standard for success, a new version of
an exam, which contains more difficult questions than the prior version, will be assigned a somewhat
lower passing score.
For this reason, passing scores may vary between different exams in your certification track, and between
2 versions of the same exam
The passing scores provided on the Oracle Certification Program website are for informational purposes
only. Oracle does not recommend an exam preparation strategy targeting the passing score, because
passing scores are subject to change.

Format of the Certification Exams

All exams are closed book exams. No written materials or notebook computers will be allowed in the
testing area. All questions are either multiple choice, fill in the missing word, or match these against those.

Exam Prices
The price for exam 1Z0-007 is $90 US Dollars over the Internet and in Authorized Prometric Testing
Centers. The price for all other Oracle Certification exams is equivalent to $125 US Dollars, plus any local
taxes.

Where to take these Exams?

Tests for the Oracle exams are conducted at authorized Prometric testing centers worldwide. Use their
on-line Test Center Locator to find the test center closest to you.

Preparing for the Exam

Once you have decided which Oracle Examination Track to go for, download the Candidate Guide for the
track you are pursuing. The guide contains test topics, preparation, and registration material. It is highly
recommended by the Oracle Certification Program that candidates review the Test Content Checklist
before completing an exam. You may also review the Checklist online.
