Book Details:-

Microbiology is the branch of biology that deals with the study of microscopic organism (microbes). Microbes are very important part of our life and are useful in our day to day activities. The microbiology is subdivided into various fields such as bacteriology, virology, protozoology, phycology and mycology. The advancement in the knowledge of the microbes and their practical utility in the field of medical microbiology, food microbiology, biofertilizers and plant growth promoters including bacteria and fungi, industrial microbiology and various other activities including various technological advancement and recent development in the food industry, agricultural productivity, pharmaceutical industry, environmental protection and abatement of pollution etc and genetic engineering in the field of microbes had helped in the development of the country. Since the research and advancement in teaching material is a continuous process and there is a need to include various research findings that had compelled the authors for inclusion of new advancement in various fields have been included in this book. It contains five different units including Unit 1-Introduction, history and applications of microbiology, Unit 2- General accounts of micro-organism, Unit 3. Genetic recombination, application of genetic engineering and fermentation, Unit 4- Studies of various instruments useful in microbiological laboratory and Unit 5. deals with biostatistics.

This book will be useful to the undergraduate students in microbiology and can be used as a basic subject material for the students, teachers engaged in academics, research in different technical institutes and covers the course of different universities. There is always ample scope of improvement in the concerned subject material and various suggestion for improvement are welcomed by the authors and your suggestions will definitely help us to improve the standard of the book in the next editions and will act as a stimulus for further advancement.
