RUBRICS FOR PEER AND SELF ASSESSMENT The following rubrics for peer and self-assessment are used

to assess Year 9 students on food. The students are required to construct a concept map on food. The students should be able to include: (a) (b) (c) the importance of food the three components of food with simple explanations and examples the five groups of nutrients with examples and uses.

Students will construct the concept map in groups. The class will be divided into four groups. The concept map will start with the word FOOD at the centre of the page. Instructions will be given to the students on what criteria will be assessed. For the peer assessment, the students will assess the concept maps of the other three groups. They will discuss this within their own group members. For the self-assessment, the students will assess their own concept map.
