1 Introduction
Welcome to the Urban Drainage, Irrigation and River Management System KIKKER, developed by Riodesk based on the best management practice of sewage, drainage, irrigation and river management professionals in the Netherlands and Indonesia. KIKKER is a Geographical Information System (GIS) for rational management of water networks. This software allows you to collect data, investigate conditions, perform assessments, plan, implement and improve drain and sewer systems. Based on the European Standard EN 13508-2 Contents Mapping and Inspection of Maintenance data Irrigation screen shots River Management screen shots .

Step 2 get the river or irrigation objects: The location of nodes and conduits on the topography The conduit: Cross section shape Rough dimension Material Effluent type Conduit type/function Category (Foundation) Street name District name
Step 3 get the inspection and inventory data (the inventory of element is part of the inspection): The information about the condition of the drainage related to: Construction; Operation; Elements. Identified with location, picture/cross section, characterisation (type) and quantification.
Using the inspection coding system: Example : Operation: Vegetation Settled deposits Ingress of soil Other obstacles Infiltration Exfiltration

SCOPE
Pictures can be stored and connected to node and conduit inventory data. Inspection data can be monitored in Kikker. Inspection moments are labeled with a date and inspection type. In a list the user can select a date and type to display the inspection data of the inspection moment and compare with other moments. For storing and comparing inspection data Kikker uses a coding system. This coding system is based on the European Standard EN 13508-2 and made suitable for drainage, irrigation and river management Coding system for object inspection: Construction: Fissures Break or collapse Defective brickwork Missing Mortar Surface Damage Intruding connection Defective connection

SCOPE
The aspects are observed with: the characterisation and quantification code (column: C1 and C2) of aspects; the location and extends of the aspects along the alignment measured from a node; Optional: o a measure of the aspects (in mm, for example the height of settled deposits) o a photographic picture to visualize the aspect KIKKER adds automatically the seriousness (column: S) of aspects. The seriousness and extend of aspects are used in the decision support system for rehabilitation and the maintenance planning. Example:
Aspect: Code BBA S 1 2 3 4 5 C1 0 0 0 0 0 C2 0 0 0 0 0 Vegetation Description no Vegetation detected reduction cross-sectional area <= 10% 10% < reduction cross-sectional area <= 25% 25% < reduction cross-sectional area <= 50% reduction cross-sectional area > 50%

PAGE SCOPE
Insert, update and deletion of address (irrigation area) data. The area data along the conduit is always up to date through direct calculation of cumulative area. Each address box has a cross on one corner of the information box. The to be updated address is marked with an red cross, as depicted on the left information box. The address is connected with the node near the information box cross. From the connected node the address receives irrigation water. The information box can be moved, for example to another node. By putting the cursor in the x- or y- coordinate field and mouse click on the desired location. The amount of surface area depicted along the conduit is recalculated and displayed directly after moving a address to an other node, changing the address area or deleting the address.

PAGE SCOPE
The update conduit dialog is depicted in the figure above. The insert conduit dialog has the same lay out. A conduit should be located on the irrigation canal trace. For irrigation the following information should be entered: The conduit: Cross section shape Can be circular, trapezium and rectangular A cross section lay out / figure can be input in the conduit logbook. Rough dimension Cross section top width/height/bottom width in decimeter accuracy Material Fro example: reinforced material, gabion, rip rap, concrete, masonry, earth, stones, etc.. Effluent type Irrigation Conduit type/function: Open canal, culvert, aqua duct, siphon, chute (got miring), blocked Category (Foundation) Primary, Secondary or tertiary Street name Name of the canal or inspection road District name Name of irrigation area

The update node dialog is depicted in the figure above. The insert node dialog has the same lay out. A node should be located on: Conduit junctions; Conduit changes of cross section, not caused by conditional aspects; Conduit changes of material and of construction; Structures like: End structure Turn Out Division structure Drop structure Intake Inflow outflow The nodes are beginning and ending point of conduits. Inflow and outflow nodes are special nodes to mark the beginning en end of a special conduit structure. After inserting a node the data (except the node number) can be updated. A user can delete a node when it is not used as begin or end point of a conduit.

PAGE SCOPE
The selection tools in KIKKER enable users to perform cost calculating, reporting, performing calculations and planning on a collection of nodes and conduits. After selecting conduits and nodes, Kikker colours them orange. Users are then able to copy them, start a new window and paste them in the new window, to perform the desired action. In the picture above the dialog is depicted for selecting conduits with a selection filter. Other selection options are Selecting single conduit and nodes. Selection of a number of conduits with a polygon. Selection of nodes with the filter options. Selection of conduits and nodes in a shape.

PAGE SCOPE
In the figure above: aerial shapes are depicted. Users can make these shapes with Kikker or import them from DXF of SHP made with a CAD or GIS. In Kikker are functions to calculate the area and to select nodes and conduits in certain shapes. A selected address is colored orange. When users open de node info dialog on a certain node the connected addresses are selected and colored orange.

PAGE SCOPE
Users can make simple flow and storage calculations and see the effects of blocking conduits. After performing the flow calculation the flow direction is painted as depicted above.

PAGE SCOPE
The irrigation network in this manual is digitized from the analog (paper) map displayed in the picture above. The map is scanned and imported as a .jpg, .bmp or .png bitmap raster file in Kikker. With the geo reference option in Kikker users can simply make a geo reference file and connect this to the raster file. After geo referencing the map is painted at the correct UTM position. Whit the insert node, conduit and address options users can simply digitize the irrigation network from map. The irrigation network in this manual is digitized and equipped with addresses, photos and pictures in 4 hours by an experienced Kikker operator.

PAGE SCOPE
With the display and plot options users are able to make the pictures and drawings on different scale and paper formats. Also an impressive number of export options to export the network to .dxf, .csv and .shp files are available.

SCOPE
In the picture above: A river is painted in the UTM coordinate system Blue crosses are drawn on spots with available cross section measure data Users can import csv cross section data and connect the data automatically to the intersecting conduits. An example of csv cross section data is displayed below.

PAGE SCOPE
The logbook function in Kikker gives users the opportunity to monitor the maintenance of infrastructure. In the dialog in depicted above only one inspection moment is available. After measuring the cross section again on the same location using the gps functions in Kikker the user is able to see the development of sedimentation and erosion. The same dialog is used for storing other aspect mentioned in chapter 2. The aspects are stored with location, type, seriousness and photos and videos. The screenshots on the next page is the same as above but the first equipped with dxf topography and the second with topography and a geo referenced bitmap.
