The ultrafleXtreme truly represents a leap forward in MALDI technology and the performance of the system far surpasses the capabilities of earlier generation instrumentation. The ultrafleXtreme truly redefines what is possible with MALDI Mass Spectrometry.

As shown in the current study, the ultrafleXtreme represents a significant advance in capabilities for a MALDI type Mass Spectrometer compared to earlier generation instrumentation for analysis of lipids. The ultrafleXtreme is capable of readily analyzing a number of lipids and lipid like molecules including fatty acids, phospholipids, phosphotidyl inositol, gangliosides, etc. Bruker Daltonics has developed a combination of hardware and software tools for easy analysis of lipids as analyzed by TLC.
