PSYCH 101 GENERAL PSYCHOLOGY 3 UNITS IV. COURSE DESCRIPTION: The course aims to provide students with the general overview of Psychology. Emphasis is on the scientific approach to understand human behavior and mental processes particularly on the Filipino individual. V. COURSE RATIONALE: The course is primarily for students who desire an intensive preparation for the more advance courses in Psychology. This is offered to ALL students in the collegiate department of the Colegio. In the end, it is hoped that the course will facilitate personal awareness and development among students. VI. COURSE OBJECTIVES: General Objectives: At the end of the course, the student is expected to have equipped himself with the basic knowledge in psychology. Specific Objectives: COGNITIVE: 1. Provide a general overview of the field of psychology. 2. Introduce the students to the scientific way of understanding human behavior and mental processes. 3. Stimulate intellectual curiosity about human behavior and thinking. AFFECTIVE 4. Facilitate personal awareness and development. 5. Develop a deepen interest in psychology. PSYCHOMOTOR 6. Participate actively in the class discussion. 7. Share ones experiences in relation to the topic discussed.
