OPTIONS

WE FOCUS ON YOUR GOALS!

Are you looking for short-term programmes or long-term studies? Is your study-abroad trip a
combination of holidays and studies, or do you want to improve your language skills for professional
reasons? With us you can choose from a perfect range of courses. We can also help you enrol for official examinations. Furthermore, if you decide to apply to a university in our host country, we are there
to give you information and support. You can always approach our team for further information.
QUALIFIED PROFESSIONAL TEACHERS
It is no coincidence that we have been at the forefront of providing language opportunities for
the last 28 years. We strongly believe that our teachers are our main asset. It goes without saying
that all our teachers are qualified professionals. They are all highly motivated and committed to
providing the highest standard of language teaching. They strive to make lessons as interactive,
interesting and inspiring as possible through the use of authentic materials to supplement core
textbooks. All our teachers follow a course structure which takes into account the needs of the
students. As well as teaching you the language, you are encouraged to learn about the different
cultures of their peers. To this end, when your lesson has finished, you should have the required
skills needed to continue your learning outside of the classroom.
PART-TIME COURSE
(10 lessons / 7,5 hours per week, 1 lesson = 45 minutes)
This course will provide you with some insight into the language and its cultural setting.
2 lessons daily will leave you with a lot of time to enjoy your vacation.
SEMI-INTENSIVE COURSE
(20 lessons / 15 hours per week, 1 lesson = 45 minutes)
This is the perfect compromise between learning the language and enjoying your free time. 4 lessons
daily guarantee effective learning, while the morning or afternoon remains free for extra-curricular
activities. The minimum course duration is at least 2 weeks.
INTENSIVE COURSE
(30 lessons / 22,5 hours per week, 1 lesson = 45 minutes)
If you want to learn more intensively with the aim of gaining greater fluency and accuracy more
quickly then this course is your ideal option.
SUPER-INTENSIVE COURSE
(40 lessons / 30 hours per week, 1 lesson = 45 minutes)
This is the ideal course for students who really want to challenge themselves academically.
Students take 8 lessons per day from Monday to Friday. This course is particularly recommended
for any student, especially for those who wish to enter a university.
MINI GROUP COURSE
(20 lessons / 15 hours per week, 1 lesson = 45 minutes)
In our mini group courses, you work in smaller groups of up to 6 students, allowing more focus
on your individual needs. This course allows you to work intensively during lessons, while still
enjoying half a day of activities.
BUSINESS LANGUAGE COURSE
(30 lessons / 22,5 hours per week, 1 lesson = 45 minutes)
This course is ideal for students and professionals who need to use a foreign language for daily
business correspondence. The course combines 6 lessons per day, 4 of which are the Semi-Intensive Course and 2 of which specialise in business topics. We cover a range of current and relevant
work-related issues.
INDIVIDUAL COURSE
One-to-one language training is the quickest and most intensive way to learn a language or to
improve your language skills. The format of the lessons is totally determined by your needs and
desires. Obviously, the hours are flexible, allowing you to book them together with another course
option. You decide the number of daily lessons. All aspects of the language are taught in as short
a time as possible without being overly demanding.
ACADEMIC TERM /EXAM PREPARATION
(20 lessons / 15 hours or 30 lessons / 22,5 hours per week, 1 lesson = 45 minutes)
For more information on academic terms and exam preparation please see page 8.
QUALITY ASSURANCE
The key to Sprachcaffes success is that no matter how much we grow as an organisation we never
lose sight of the principles on which Sprachcaffe was founded. With schools located in some of
the worlds top destinations and a dedicated international team, we are committed to providing
the highest quality service.

The study-abroad period and the language certificates are a great qualification for your resume,
as periods spent away from your home country will indicate open-mindedness and intercultural
awareness. A young person who spends time studying or working abroad will gain experience and
learn new skills which will lead to increased confidence, maturity, and independence. For the maximum number of students in a class, please refer to the relevant destination page.

LEVELS

COURSE
STEP TO SUCCESS: ANALYSIS OF YOUR CURRENT LANGUAGE ABILITY
On your first day you will take a language assessment test covering grammar, as well as, vocabulary. This will ensure that you are assigned to a class with students of the same level. The grid below
proposes the length of time it should take to reach your desired target. Please note that this table
is based on an intensive course of 30 lessons per week (1 lesson = 45 minutes). The recommended
duration to reach your goals will also vary according to individual skill, age and prior language
exposure, amongst other factors.

of your choice. To apply for our university placement you therefore require:
An elementary or intermediate level of the language spoken at the university
All the necessary academic qualifications requested by the university for the course of your choice (such
as a college certificate or undergraduate degree)
University requirements vary according to country and university: Applicants for undergraduate courses
must have completed college or high school while students interested in a postgraduate degree generally
need to be in possession of a good bachelors degree. Many courses or universities also have specific entry
requirements, such as relevant work experience, or physical suitability. Furthermore, students also need
to meet the language requirements for higher education: Courses in Germany require applicants to pass

an IELTS score (or TOEFL equivalent) of 4.5 - 5.5. Our preparation courses will help you achieve the grade
required. Students joining our programme with intermediate language knowledge and fluency can usually reach the level required to join a university foundation or undergraduate course within 24 weeks.
Study periods vary according to majors and degrees. Generally, a foundation course lasts one academic
year, a bachelor degree takes 6 semesters to complete, and a masters degree lasts 3 to 5 semesters.

SCHOOL INFORMATION
The school is simply breathtaking a sight to
behold! It is of unique architectural interest and
was built at the beginning of the century. This
striking, aesthetically pleasing stone building
with its classical Greek-like elements and Roman
arcades will not fail to impress you. Our campus,
comprising of classrooms almost all of which
are airconditioned apartments, restaurants, and
gardens, not to mention the swimming pool and
the beach volleyball court, is the perfect place to
study and relax. The sun shines practically all year
round, making it an outdoor experience when it
comes to relaxation and leisure opportunities,
which are almost unlimited.

Sprachcaffe Languages PLUS offers you probably the most beautiful school in Malta.
Thinking of learning English properly and
enjoying a Mediterranean climate? Look no
further than the very south of Europe!
The island of Malta is situated between Sicily and the coast of North Africa. The sun shines
the whole year round on its North African-like
landscape. Malta has a diverse culture, and has
played a greater role in history and international
politics, than most of the other islands on earth.
The Phoenicians, the Romans, the French and the
British have all come and gone. Now its your turn!
Today Malta remains one of the most Catholic
countries in the world; nowhere else are there
so many religious holidays or so many churches
per square mile. However, what makes Malta so
interesting for a language course is the legacy left

behind by the British, who needed the island for

its strategic geographical position, well into the
1960s. Just as in all other former colonies, the
judicial system and British administration have
remained in place. English is the first official and
cultural language. The educational system is very
British. Indeed the Maltese language schools are
greatly respected throughout Europe.
The Maltese mentality is Mediterranean a warm
blend of Italian, Spanish and British. They drive on
the left (like in Britain) and they insist on having
a siesta (like in Italy and Spain). Otherwise, the
Maltese are tolerant and open-minded, interested
in all cultures, and they are a fun-loving people. The
school is located in a quiet part of St. Julians Bay,
yet, it is close to its nightlife centre called Paceville.

Along with the Royal Family came the cream of

English society, including the aristocracy and the
so-called moneyed classes. As a result, Brighton
immediately became associated with glamour and
sophistication, and even today, Brighton is very
much regarded to be a fashionable place. Whether
it is for watching one of the many sporting events
held in the city, eating at one of its many renowned
restaurants, clubbing in what is one of Europes
liveliest club scenes, or simply strolling along the
pier or promenade, Brighton in the 21st Century is
as popular as ever. The Royal Pavilion is a sight well
worth seeing. It was built specially for the Prince
Regent at the turn of the 18th century.

originally a fishing village before it was colonised

by the royals and the aristocracy. The fishermen
lived in the winding lanes which are todays
attractions and have become known as The Lanes.
The Lanes offer cosy pubs, antique shops, book
shops and cafs on every corner. Brighton is a city
that has grown over the centuries, it is still very
young and a popular universitiy city. Part of the
reason is due to the closeness to London, trains
run directly to Victoria and take about 45 minutes.

At the end of the 18th century, the English

seaside resort of Brighton was fortunate
enough to be chosen by the British Royal
Family as its official summer residence.

London one of the most vibrant and exciting cities in the world.
Discover London the centre of Europe,
its culture and way of life by visiting our
language schools.
If one thing is certain
in life, it is that you
will never be bored
in London! Just take
a look at Time Out,
the daddy of all citylistings magazines to
see the thousands of
events and activities
held in the city every
week. Fancy a nightout at the theatre? No
problem London is
the worlds theatre
capital. Or what about a night out clubbing? Take
your pick London has one of the largest club
scenes in the world. There are so many events
going on at the same time in London that to take
part in just a fraction of them would be impossible!
What about a visit to one of the famous museums?
Or maybe dinner in a fancy restaurant? Indian,

Chinese, West African, Indonesian, Mexican the

choice is endless. Over the centuries the city has
embraced so many cultures from around the world
that a visitor simply cannot take all of them in.
But then again, does it
come as a surprise that
London presents such
a vibrant and colourful
picture when one third
of the world was once
influenced by the British Empire?
Throughout the year
students have the
option to participate
in an extra-curricular
social programme organised by Sprachcaffe. In the
summer months, many students spend their time
in the local parks which feature a beautiful array
of flowers and ponds. Sports activities can also be
enjoyed, with many of the parks offering tennis
courts, cricket pitches and woodlands ideal for
walking or cycling.

The city was the site of several firsts, including

the first public school and the first subway system
in America. Bostons prime location on the North
Atlantic and proximity to the coast means that
residents can enjoy a variety of fresh seafood every
day. Local lobster and traditional clam chowder
are not to be missed in particular. With over 100
colleges and universities in the city alone, Boston
is known as the Athens of America. The worlds
top university is in Boston, which cements this
citys reputation as being an intellectual center. It
is no wonder why Boston is often the first choice
for students wishing to pursue language or postsecondary education. In fact, close to half of Bostons population is made up of students, making
the city very student-friendly.

from a variety of restaurants, clubs, bars, and
lounges on the weekends or after their classes at
school.

America, in the southwest
corner of British Columbia.
British Columbia itself is
Canadas westernmost
province and is bordered
by the Pacific Ocean to
its west and the Rocky
Mountains to its east.
Warmed by the currents of the Pacific Ocean
and protected by the mountain range, Vancouvers weather is mild year-round. The winters in

Prices for Vancouver and Victoria

The City of Vancouver is the most prominent and

famous of these municipalities. The best way to get
around Vancouver City is
on foot, by bicycle, or even
by boat. One of the best
things about Vancouver is
that students can see the
mountains from virtually
anywhere in the city.
From the school, students
can walk or cycle to Stanley Park if they need an
escape from the bustling city. There, they can
admire the art of Vancouvers prominent First
Nations people. Another Vancouver-favourite is
Gastown, which attracts 1 million visitors each
year. It is the oldest area of Vancouver and features
Victorian-style buildings.

Victoria is the capital city

of the province of British
Columbia, and is conveniently located a quick
15-minute flight from
Vancouver International
Airport or an equally
convenient 40-minute
flight from Seattle, Washington. Vancouver Island
can also be reached by an incredibly scenic ferry
ride from the mainland, where students may even
get the chance to see a killer whale or two along
the way. Surrounded by the Pacific Ocean, Victoria
enjoys very mild weather all year round, making
it perfect for students to enjoy a great variety of

water sports including water skiing, sailing,

rowing, and more. The gorgeous flowers of the
Butchart Gardens are Victorias crowning glory.
In fact, Victoria even derives a nickname, The
City of Gardens, from them.
Students will be equally
impressed by the majesty
of the Fairmont Empress
Hotel and the Inner Harbour. The lively Inner Harbour, in particular, features
music performances from
aspiring artists and street
vendors and is a favourite
of residents and students
alike. Since it is considered a smaller city, the
local residents of Victoria are very friendly often
going out of their way to help international students. The warm and welcoming atmosphere of
the city will melt away stress and make anyone
feel at home instantly.

As the nations capital, Ottawa is in the heart of historic and culturally-rich eastern Canada.
Ottawa is one of the worlds most beautiful
capital cities. Its charm and convenient size
make it a wonderful place to live and study.
Ottawa is the capital of Canada
and the centre of Canadian
government. The buildings of
Parliament Hill look like they
have been transported directly
from Europe! The site of numerous festivals, light shows,
tours, and of course, Royal
Canadian Mounted Police
parades, Parliament Hill has
something everyone should
see. Ottawas natural treasures include beaches,
parks, woodlands, rivers, and lakes. Of particular
pride to the people of Ottawa is the Rideau Canal,
which offers a unique experience to visitors regardless of the season. 7.8 kilometers long, in winter it is
the worlds largest ice-skating rink; and in summer
82
it provides a perfect sightseeing route for recrea-

tional boating. Students can enjoy walking, rollerblading, or cycling along the banks of the Rideau
Canal too. Ottawa was first chosen as the capital of
Canada by the Queen of England for its strategic
location between the
other major cities in the
eastern region. Thus, it is
very easy for students to
organize trips to Montreal
(2 hours by bus), Toronto
(5.5 hours by bus), and
Niagara Falls (6.5 hours
by bus). There are four
very distinct seasons in
Ottawa, and students can
enjoy many seasonal activities such as Winterlude,
the largest festival in all of Canada, in winter; the
Tulip Festival in spring; and the best Canada Day
celebrations in summer. Being the capital as well,
Ottawa is home to Canadas national museums and
heritage sites. There is no shortage of things to99do
and love in this stately city.

It is one of the safest and

cleanest cities in North
America and its friendly
people are world-renowned.
With four definite seasons,
Toronto is a city of temperature extremes. Toronto
is also home to a number
of established universities
and colleges, including the largest university in
Canada. This, combined with rich ethnic diversity,
means that Toronto offers truly dynamic night-life
and boasts a tempting array of restaurants. Students will have countless opportunities to explore

the various ethnic communities, neighbourhoods,

and areas of interest within Toronto and nearby.
These options include a guided walking tour of
the downtown core, museum, and art gallery
visits, movie nights, and
visiting attractions such
as the world-famous
CN Tower, Ontario Place,
Harbourfront, and Casa
Loma. Depending upon
the season, weekend
excursions include a
canoe trip to the heart of
Algonquin Provincial
Park, a bus trip to the
Canadian side of Niagara
Falls, skiing at Blue Mountain or a weekend trip
to Ottawa. Toronto is also host to over 30 film
festivals a year and a number of international
cultural-events so students will have lots to do
when classes are over for the day.

Calgary, the largest city

in Alberta province, is
located right between
the Rocky mountains and
the Canadian prairies. It
comprises everything
that large cities offer and
yet keeps a less stressful
pace of life - making it an
ideal place to study and live in. Calgary is Canadas
most rapidly-growing city and is known as having
a lower cost of living, according to most students.
The stage for the 1988 Winter Olympic Games, the
city continues receiving athletes today. Thus, Calgary is a great place to enjoy sports especially
those related to snow.
Sunnyside

Banff National Park and Lake Louise, two of the

most majestic natural attractions in all of Canada,
are a mere 45 minutes drive away, and are guaranteed to take anyones
breath away. Inside the
city, students can enjoy the
view of the city from Calgary Tower, catch a Calgary
Flames hockey game in
Saddledome, and go shopping in Calgarys popular
17 Avenue district. Among
the several events that take
place in the city, the Calgary
Stampede is by far the largest. Occurring every
July, it celebrates Calgarys `Old West spirit and
attracts over a million visitors every year. It features
the worlds largest rodeo, a parade, chuckwagon
races, and many shows. In fact, Calgarys
Renfrew nickname, Stampede Town, comes from this exciting
ten-day event.

Surrounded by mountains and full of

friendly people, Calgary is the Canada
that people envision the Canada of
your dreams!

many foods particular to Montreal including
smoked meat and poutine. The city is renowned
for its European culture, its architecture, and its
international festivals. In
fact, Montral is sometimes known as the City of
Festivals due to the sheer
number of events the city
has in one year. Of particular fame are the Montral
International Jazz Festival,
the International Fireworks
Festival, and the Canadian
Grand Prix, which is Canadas
only Formula 1 race. These
events draw millions of visitors from around the
globe, and really highlight the citys devotion to
the arts, beauty, and fun. Montral is a great place
for students to study English, French, or both languages at the same time.

The jazz festival in July attracts famous international artists. The carnival in February with
its procession of flower floats and the famous
Bataille des Fleurs attracts visitors from all over
the world. Nice is also an excellent base for visiting
other interesting sites on the Riviera Monaco,
Cannes and Antibes are easily accessible by train.
There are bus services to visit St. Tropez, famous for
its film and pop stars. This is the place where Mika
invented the delicious Tarte Tropzienne.
Travel inland and you can visit Grasse, the home
of French perfume. Then there is St.Paul de Vence
Cathedral perched on the top of a hill, where you
will enjoy a breathtaking view over Nice, its understandable why so many artists have painted
in Nice.

Nice is more than simply the capital of the Cte

D Azur, its the fifth largest town in France, a chic
and flirtatious coastal resort with a backdrop of
wealth and fine architecture. Located on the Mediterranean coast at the western end of the Riviera,
the city boasts a plethora of ruins, museums, boutiques, and an appealing French caf culture. Cafs
occupy weathered 17th and 18th century buildings, while outdoor markets crowd the old towns
streets and Venetian-style squares. Like most of the
Riviera, Nice has a lively nightlife and the old city
stays open until the early hours of the morning.

When arriving in Paris for your language

course you may find the city more grand,
evocative, beautiful, and stimulating than
you had imagined it to be.
Called the City of Lights, Paris is truly one of the
worlds most beautiful cities. This capital city is
made up of 20 districts or arrondissements. Each
arrondissement has its own character and meaning
for Parisians and offers an abundance of cathedrals,
palaces, parks and gardens. The streets of Paris are
filled with scores of famous monuments and landmarks: the Eiffel Tower, Ntre Dame, the Louvre,
Arc de Triomphe, Ste-Chapelle, the Conciergerie
and the Place des Invalides to name but a few.
The art, music, theatre, fashion, literature, and
architecture of Paris make it a haven for language
travellers from all over the world. The French revolu-

tion ensured the development of a certain spirit of

thought, now a particular western mentality, and
a strong sense for the individual prevails. It has
also paved the way for an inventive and creative
spirit in the arts, architecture, literature, and music
that enhanced the development of science and
technology. This fact is proudly remembered and
alluded to by contemporary French people. Recently, on the 200th anniversary of the revolution,
the city presented more breathtaking monuments
to modern architecture, which rival any in Europe.
Paris is cutting edge when it comes to fashion and
the arts: theatre and ballet have sent a message out
to the whole world and we all know that there is a
bonafide contemporary scene in Paris. One prime
example is the Louvre which is a must for all those
who enjoy some of the worlds finest collections of
paintings.

Our school on the Calle Arenal near the Puerta del Sol is right in the centre of the city.
Madrid remains one of the most exciting
capital cities in Europe.

the door to modern Europe as much as Madrid

has after King Juan Carlos came to reign in 1975.
Indeed, the monarch is widely credited with having overseen Spains transition from dictatorship
to democracy. The capitals remarkable collection
of museums and galleries includes The Prado, the
Museo Reina Sofia and the Museo Thyssen Bornemisza. The Prado alone is considered to hold the
most significant collection of historical art in all of
Spain. Take some souvenirs of Madrids majestic
past back home, you will definitely find something at one of the best flea markets in the world,
an absolute must for antique collectors. There are
plenty of cafes and bars. Anyone who wishes to
enjoy Spanish culture and learn the language
will achieve this with the help of our Sprachcaffe
Languages PLUS teachers. Our staff is always well
informed when it comes to current events and will
make sure you get to know the city.

In the very centre of Spain, surrounded by the arid

Mesta plane, Madrid is one of the most cosmopolitan and vibrant cities in Europe. Madrids history reaches back to the 10th century as a fortified
Moorish town. In 1607, Madrid became Spains
permanent capital and has flourished ever since,
making it a vibrant, modern city. Visits to the opera,
theatre, Royal Palace and museums are just a sample of the cultural delights Madrid has to offer to
international students. It was only in 1561 that
Felipe II made Madrid the capital of Spain. The dynamism of the city which ensued can be best seen
in the architecture. The imposing colonial buildings seen almost everywhere contribute to the
unflappable self-confidence and composure of the
people. Hardly any other metropolis has opened

Located on the Mediterranean coast, the so-called

Costa del Sol, Mlaga is a cosmopolitan city
and Spains second largest harbour. Mlaga
was conquered in 1487 by the Reyes Catlicos
(the Catholic Monarchs). The city then became
part of a united Spain, which laid the foundations for the Golden Era of Spain. Mlaga has
much to offer theatres, cinemas, museums,
a bullring and exciting nightlife. The mild
climate offers approximately 326 days of sun
each year and its beaches are just a short distance
from the city. The city owes its individuality and
flair to the ancient eastern walls, and the cultural
finger-prints left behind by the Saracens and

the Moors, who encouraged the establishment of

many other religions. We have discovered a very
peaceful area in Pedregalejo on the edge of the
city, an ideal place to live and learn, and close to
El Palo, the nightlife centre of Mlaga.
Andalusia, unspoiled by its climate, leaves the
impression that it will always flourish. The area
is ideally located for setting out on excursions,
especially anywhere around the coastal region
and the neighbouring Sierra Nevada (an excellent
skiing area). The promenade, frequented by countless locals, offers bars and seafood restaurants. The
colourful lifestyle is present everywhere, be it in
cafes, shopping arcades or clubs. Here, the young
Andalusians dance the night away, and you will
find it pleasing to get to know them as they are
curious to meet guests from all around the world.

Our Sprachcaffe campus, residence and school.

Playa del Carmen is blessed with miles
of unspoiled white sandy beaches and
crystal-clear Caribbean waters, which is
becoming harder and harder to find.
Its a place for those in search of the real Caribbean. There are numerous outrageously delicious
restaurants and several hotels which offer the
highest standards of service. Combine that with
a relaxed Mexican-Caribbean feeling, some
alabaster-white beaches; gentle surf and coral
reefs and youve got Playa! Most of Playas activities involve water: divers and people who want
to snorkel come to Playa del Carmen to enjoy the
great waters and excellent diving conditions. Deep
sea fishing trips and kayaking are two other main

activities visitors of Playa del Carmen often enjoy.

Playa, located some 60 km south of Cancun, is not
only the perfect place to study and relax, but also
an ideal base from which to explore the myriad
of attractions in the area: Cozumel, Cancun, and
all of the fabulous archeological sites in the area,
such as Chichen Itza, Mexicos most extensively
restored archaeological site and one of the most
awe-inspiring archeological places in the world.
Other sites including Xcaret, Xel Ha, Coba (one of
the largest cities from the Mayan age) and Tulum
are also within easy reach. Sprachcaffe is located
in the heart of Playa with numerous clubs, shops
and attractions in the vicinity. Also the paradisiacal caribbean beaches are just a couple of minutes
away.

ROMA

ITALIAN IN

SCHOOL INFORMATION
Our school is situated just a stones throw away
from St. Peters in a beautiful residential district
of down-town on one of the most popular
shopping streets. We have bright classrooms
and friendly staff who will support you in the
classroom, while you are learning, and will help
answer any questions you may have. After classes
are over for the day, you can relax and soak up
the citys atmosphere by walking to the Piazza
del Popolo, Via del Corso or Villa Borghese directly
from the school.

Rome the eternal capital of the world!

Todays Rome is a contemporary metropolis
of world fame which still reflects the various epochs of its long and colourful history
in its architecture, culture and people.
The citys large historical centre can be divided into
many different architectural areas from Ancient
Rome to Medieval times, from the Renaissance
era to Baroque, Art Nouveau, Neoclassicism,
Modernism and Rationalism. For this reason,
the city is so often considered a sort of living
encyclopaedia covering the last 3000 years of
Western art. Try to get your cultural fill but be sure
to leave time for the more hedonistic activities for
which Rome is famous: its wonderful sunshine and
the cool fountains in small, hidden squares and the
warm evening strolls through a city overflowing
with areas and sights to suit every taste: Campo dei
Fiori, Piazza Navona, Trinit dei Monti, Trastevere

and the Pantheon are all incredibly wonderful

places-probably among the most beautiful sites in
the world-where people of all ages and generations divide their time between enjoying a glass
of good Italian wine and a home-made gelato! It is
no wonder that our guests return home with a tear
in their eye and a full heart!
Rome has much more to offer, besides urban feeling. The wonderful beaches of Circeo, Sabaudia,
Sperlonga, Argentario and Ponza are a great way
to get away for the weekend and experience the
Tyrrhenian. Naturally our colleagues at the school
will do their best to help you organize such trips,
whether you want to explore new and different areas of the city or venture out into Romes
surrounding region. As the saying goes when in
Rome, do as the Romans do. Do exactly this by
overloading your senses with the abundance of
pleasures that the city has to offer.

Located 120 kilometres inland from Italys west coast

and 200 kilometres northwest of Rome, Florence
boasts a proud history of art and architecture, unsurpassed elsewhere in Europe, it is the true cradle
of the Renaissance. The absolutely breathtaking city
will give you a vision of what it would have been like
to live in such a prosperous Renaissance city. Florence
has so much to offer to the international visitor that
every day can be specked with new cultural experiences. The streets of Florence radiate the charm of
Italian culture. Students from all around discover the
Flower (Florence or Florentia in Italian/Latin).
Numerous museums and palaces, as well as private
galleries, bars, cafes, and even clubs and discos
exude a deep-rooted sense of beauty and design.

Anyone who comes here to study and is exposed

to all of Florences attractions, will simply learn of
the desire to speak the language, to communicate
with the Florentine people and to indulge in this
rich culture. Whether it is something modern,
classical, ancient, or rustic, we know that if it
comes from Florence, then it has style. The city
is a must for trendsetters, furniture designers,
craftsmen, artists, architects and fashion designers. This is perhaps a result of the interaction
between tradesmen from many countries who
not only brought their goods but introduced their
cultures as well.
The Renaissance influenced Florences mentality
and left its fingerprints on the unique language.
Home of Dante, Machiavelli, Michelangelo, Da
Vinci, and the Medici, Florence is overwhelming
with its wealth and pride, a most enticing city.

ACTIVE ITALIAN CULTURE

After the Italian classes, students can attend this special introduction course into various Italian themes such as art, cooking,
music and games. This course will meet 5 days a week, for 2 lessons each afternoon. We will teach students about Italian
culture and much more. Small groups 50,- per week starting on dates marked with C.

Nevertheless, the city has kept its original uniqueness which it is famous for. Beijing offers easy connections to the most important sites, such as: the
Great Wall, the Ming Tombs, the Summer Palace,
temples and lamaseries. Chinese is the most spoken language in the world and although it is very
different, even students staying a few weeks can
enjoy speaking it quickly and easily.

Nowadays, Beijing has a population of approximately 13 million inhabitants and is the nations
political and cultural centre. The city which is now
a major hub for shopping, retail and trade is one

of the best preserved centres and still retains a

mysterious feel of distant times. Having hosted
the 2008 Olympic Games, the city has undergone
substantial changes: parks and green areas have
been re-designed by landscape designers.

Frankfurt the centre of European economics and currency.

Frankfurt stands on the banks of the River
Main and is the centre of Europes economy
and currency.
Once a vital inland port and centre of trade, it
is now Europes largest financial centre after
London. For many, Frankfurt is a city of skyscrapers.
They have given Frankfurt the epithet, Mainhatten. A closer look reveals a metropolis of many
charms; the houses are picturesque and many have
been restored in the city centre. The unique Museum Mile along the banks of the river, which

have become an altogether pleasurable zone for

the flaneur, including cocktail bars and garden
restaurants, invite you to enjoy extensive strolls
and delicious local food and drinks. The part of
Frankfurt called Sachsenhausen, where the
school is located, is said to be the most elegant
district of the city. Actually, it has two parts: The
old section is where you amble along narrow
cobblestone streets amidst tiny gabled houses.
This is where you will find pub after pub. The fancier area of Sachsenhausen boasts charming cafes
and boutiques with a vibrancy found nowhere else.

Rabat is one of Moroccos most culturally-rich and historic cities.

From its towering city walls to its breathtaking Atlantic coastline, the Moroccan capital of Rabat will enchant and inspire you.

Rabat became Moroccos capital in 1912 and has

continued to prosper into the modern, dynamic city
it is today. Rabat is a 21st century city, with all the
conveniences and entertainment you can expect of
a city of its size. We are able to organize short trips
to other great Moroccan cities every weekend. From
Rabats central location, the Imperial Moroccan capitals of Meknes, Marrakech, and Fes are within easy
reach. Excursions to explore these great cities are
simply a few hours away by train.

Its history dates back to pre-Roman times, when the

settlement of Chellah was established at the mouth
of the Bou Regreg River in the third century BCE. The
fortress there and its sister fortress, the Kasbah of the
Oudayas, are fantastic reminders of Rabats grand
past. Throughout the city, our students will come
across architectural marvels centuries old. Theyll be
able to explore marketplaces established in medieval
times and visit museums, palaces and mosques.
They have a unique opportunity to glimpse the
reality and gain insight into one of the most exotic
cultures in the world.

Like most Arab cultures, Moroccan people are

famous for their hospitality. Moroccans love to meet
international students and are excited to share their
culture with guests. Our staff also very much enjoys
participating in this exchange of ideas.

the request made since extra costs may incur; the rebooking charge will also exceed 50 .
3. Cancellation: You may cancel your enrolment at any time prior to the commencement of your course.
However, you will be charged cancellation fees:
- cancellation up to 30 days before course commencement:
10 % of total fees, max. 150 or equivalent.
