SYNOPSIS AN EVALUATION OF THE FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE OF HLL LIFE CARE LTD

Rational For the Study Finance is the life blood of every organization. Financial performance has a vital role in the existence of any organization. It has a great role to play in the economic development activities through the generation of surplus for financing the developmental programmes and to maintaining a balanced economic growth. Financial performance means different methods used by the interested parties such as investors, creditors and management to evaluate the past, current and projected conditions and performance of the company. Different tools and techniques are used to measure the financial performance. The most important tool of financial analysis is the Ratio analysis. It provides relative measure of the firms conditions and performance. Every company prepares the financial statement at the end of the year. A Layman does not know whether the companys financial statement and its position. The financial analysts analyze the financial statement of the company and different techniques used to measure its performance. Every investors and creditors must have an awareness about the companys position i.e. profitability, liquidity and solvency. Each and every companys main objective is to attain a maximum profit with the minimum resource. The company is said to be in a profitable position, when the share price and goodwill is an increased manner. Investors always prefer a reputed companys share and through which they get maximum return on investment. Ratio analysis helps to know the proper inventory management of the company. Company maintains adequate working capital for the day to day functioning. It must have neither excess working capital nor shortage of working capital. The balance between these two is most preferred. Ratio analysis also helps in financial forecasting and planning. To analyze the financial statement, they bring the strength and weakness of the company. In this study ratio analysis will be used as a device to analyze and interpret the financial health of the firm.

HLL Life care Ltd (HLL) commenced its journey to serve the Nation in the area of health care on 1st March 1966 with its incorporation as a corporate entity under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of the Government of India. HLL was set up in the natural rubber rich state of Kerala for the production of male contraceptive sheaths for the National Family Welfare programme. The company commenced its commercial operations on 5th April 1969 at peroorkada in Thiruvananthapuram in technical collaboration with M\S Okamoto industries inc. Japan. The need to have affordable high quality vaccines for preventing communicable diseases in public health proposal in India particularly for the under privileged section of society. The company gets to know the financial performance of the HLL Life care Ltd, how much the strength and weakness as well as opportunities and threats in the present situation. The present study is related to the evaluate the financial performance of HLL Life care Ltd. Ratio analysis is the most vital tool of the financial analysis. So this tool is used to know the liquidity, profitability and solvency position and also to know debt- equity mix of the company. HLL Life care Ltd, a public sector company established more than three decades goes came to occupy a premier position in the countrys family planning and health care programs.HLL is most important public limited company in Kerala .This study helps to know whether budgetary control techniques and inventory techniques. Research Methodology Both primary and secondary data are collected for the present study. Primary data are collected from discussions with the finance manager and officers. Secondary data for the study were obtained from annual report of HLL Life care Ltd, books and journals. Tools and techniques are used for the financial performance of HLL Life care Ltd is ratio analysis. Techniques are used such as ratio, percentage and averages for the present study. Charts and graphs are also used for the present study. Appropriate statistical and nonstatistically tools can to be used for the study. A research design is a specification of methods & procedure for requiring the information needed to structure or solve the problems. Research Methodology involves primary data and secondary data, which analyzing the same by using various statistical and non statistical tools for the interpretation. Expected Contribution From the study, the expected contribution of the researcher valuable suggestion will be given for improving the profitability and liquidity position of the company.
