HISTORY {OR} BACKGROUND OF G& C : Globalisation is not an outcome of natural evolution. It is shaped and continuosly being shaped from the days of colonization. { p52} The dominant technological choices have come to be decided by the needs of military needs & the resource endowment of the west which have controlled science and technology from the days of the Industrial revolution. {p52} In this scenrio, globalization seeking social paradises free from unionisations. This is easy under the free borderlesss world of today. { p53] As I.J.M. RAZU quotes that, it is a recent phenomenon. The beginning of process was in the colonial past as it inaugerated both capitalism and global expansion. One can identify two projects of globalisation. Colonial globalisation was concerned with controlling the colonised countries by way of structural changes, enumeration and direct plunder.9 {p29} Later, in post- colonalization WTO, IMF, Played a key role through foreign direct investment and share potfolio managements.It began with downfall of soviet union. Then termed as liberal project powered by multi nationals & U.S, even with the help of world bank.10 {p30} The proces of simple modernization spanning the 15th to early 20th centuries brought ethnocide and genocide of indigenous people at every phase and dimension of the imperial project.31 {p31}. Globalization being a part of late capitalism emrged as the vehicle of the new era of the global capitalism of the 1990s. therfore, globalisation should be seen as a consequence of modernity, sceience and technology, the nation- state, the market making and unmaking of the world since the Industrial revolution . 32{ p3 5}
