Medtronic Case Competition (MEDIHCC)


Interested in strategic problems facing the medical device industry today? Compete on a interdisciplinary team (MBA, MHA, MPH, MPP, JD, MD, PhD) to create innovative solutions to problems currently faced in the medical device industry. The top three teams will travel to Medtronic headquarters to present to C-level executives and win cash prizes! The competition will be held December 1-3, 2011 at the Carlson School of Management. LifeScience Alley (LSA) Conference


Attend the 10th Annual LifeScience Alley Conference & Expo in Minnesota. The conference offers you great exposure to the medical device & life science industry, networking opportunities, and deeper insights into trends & topics impacting the industry today. Youll learn about Tims work with Professor Paul Iaizzo in the Visible Heart Lab (www.visibleheart.com) and get a first-hand look at what its like to try to tranquilize a black bear in its den.

MILI Seminar
Marie Johnson PHD - A Medical Device Development Journey: Using a life tragedy to eradicate needless death due to heart disease Tuesday, December 6, 2011, 2:30PM4:00 PM Dr Marie Johnson has 25 years of experience in product development and manufacturing in both university and Fortune 500 companies. She also led the development of a University of Minnesota think tank training post-doctoral engineers and medical doctors. Carl Platou Leadership Competition


The Carl Platou Leadership Competition took place on November 15th at the Carlson School of Management. Key Note Speaker was Stephen T. Parente. The competition winners are: 1st place: Avantika Chaudary 2nd place: Jeogn-Ha Hwang 3rd place: Brian Egan
