THE CORE: 2012 INTAKE

Certificate III in Theatre and Screen Performance (91361NSW)

Introduction THE CORE is an all-round acting arts course that draws upon different performing arts elements to fast-track students wanting to start their career or be ready to audition for advanced acting courses. The course draws upon exercises by many of the great acting teachers: Stanislavski, Sanford Meisner, Stella Adler, Lee Strasberg, Michael Chekhov, Grotowski and the Eric Morris complete acting system. These, combined with voice and movement training, help students to develop better spatial and sensory awareness and break down blocks and inhibitions. The students will develop techniques and personal confidence that enable them to reach a connected being state, which is essential for the delivery of honest and moving performances on stage and screen. Students will find a new capacity to express themselves freely physically, vocally and emotionally as they learn to trust themselves H ow do I t ra nsfe r f rom o ne c ou rse to ano the r? and their classmates in work that is both revealing and liberating.

A Choice of Career Pathway

At ACTT we believe in developing the individual creativity of every student, supporting their artistic freedom and offering practical advice to help them build sustainable careers. Many CORE grads have no desire to become an actor but use it for work or personal development. Many use the course to test and see if they have got what it takes. Some use it to enhance their natural talents and jump straight into a career in the performing arts, like the following 4 actors who started out with The CORE:
Valentino Del Toro Many TV parts and most recently starred in: Underbelly Files: Infiltration
