Prelude Adagio in F - J.S.

Bach Deck thyself, my soul, with gladness - Karg-Elert Introit TIS 8 vv 1, 2 & 5 only Gods law is perfect

1. Gods law is perfect, and converts the soul in sin that lies: Gods testimony is most sure, and makes the humble wise. 2. The statutes of the Lord are right, they all rejoice the heart; the Lords command is pure, and will light to the eyes impart. 5. Moreover, they your servants warn upon the pilgrim way; Gods law provides a great reward which can be ours today. Call to worship A word of welcome (Remain standing and say together) In this congregation all people from every nation under the earth are welcome believers or unbelievers, those who think themselves perfect and those who know they are not, young and old, able and disabled, rich and poor in both possessions and spirit. All are welcome in the name of God Any specific notices or welcomes Hymn TIS 431 Responsive prayer:
A prayer based on the Basis of Union, Paragraph Three:

Thanks to God whose word is spoken

"The Church as the fellowship of the Holy Spirit confesses Jesus as Lord over its own life. Lord remind us Whose we are. Enable us to focus our lives on the things that You desire. It also confesses that Jesus is Head over all things, the beginning of a new creation, of a new humanity, Teach us to love Your world and to show this in practical and real ways. Give us the strength to stand against those who would encourage the destruction of your creation and to stand with those who commit themselves to its preservation regardless of their reasons or faith.

Make us mindful of the ways in which we contribute to the pain of the Earth even by our daily living. God in Christ has given to all people in the Church the Holy Spirit as a pledge and foretaste of that coming reconciliation and renewal which is the end in view for the whole creation. Lord, we thank you for this gift of reconciliation. Make us instruments of your peace. The Church's call is to serve that end: to be fellowship of reconciliation, a body within which the diverse gifts of its members are used for the building up of the whole, an instrument through which Christ may work and bear witness to himself. Father we are humbled by the trust You place in us. The Church lives between the time of Christ's death and resurrection and the final consummation of all things which Christ will bring. The Church is a pilgrim people, always on the way towards a promised goal. Here the Church does not have a continuing city but seeks one to come. On the way Christ feeds the Church with Word and Sacraments, and it has the gift of the Spirit in order that it may not lose the way". Mindful of the time within which we are called to be Your people, we hold out trembling hands for your gifts and seek to follow Your Spirit in boldness and in truth. Always on the way, always fed , always guided. AMEN Time with Children Time to put the colours away! As we break the bread and drink the life of wine

AMEN Offering Interlude in D min - Dom Gregory Murray

We share the peace with our neighbours

The Lord is with you. And also with you. Lift up your hearts We lift them to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give our thanks and praise. Thanks and praise, glory and honour are rightly yours, our Lord and our God, for you alone are worthy, you alone have the words of eternal life. (All) In time beyond dreaming you brought forth light out of darkness, And in the love of Christ your son you called us again to the responsibility for your creation. Send upon us the Holy Spirit, that we, who receive your gifts, may share in the body and blood of Christ. Make us one body with him. We ask this in his blessed name. Amen We say together the Lords Prayer THIS IS THE LORDS TABLE AND ALL WHO WISH TO TAKE PART ARE WELCOME. The story of the sacrament The approach: (Together) We do not presume to come to this Table, merciful Lord, trusting in our own righteousness, but in your boundless and constant mercy; We are not worthy so much as to gather up the crumbs under your table without your bidding, but your are the everlasting Lord whose nature is always to have mercy. Grant us therefore gracious Lord, so to eat this bread and drink this wine in His name that our sinful souls may be cleansed and we may evermore dwell in Him. Distribution of the elements Today the sacrament is to be served in the pews. It is suggested that you eat the bread when you receive it but that you retain the wine until all have been served. This is to express both our individual meeting with God and our sharing in the life of Christ together. The congregation will be served first, then the elders and they will serve Bob last.

Prayer after Communion (said together) PRAYER FOR SERENITY. God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, And wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time, Enjoying each moment at a time, Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace, Taking as Jesus did, this sinful world as it is, Not as I would have it. Trusting that you will make all things right, If I surrender to your will, So that I may be reasonably happy in this world, And forever with you in the next. AMEN. Reinhold Nebuhr
