: Linux is open for all. Its the operating system that is going to rule the whole

world tomorrow. Its powerful operating system. Chat application for Linux is program that enables users to talk each other online. This is far better than programs pine, write, talk etc which does not provide flexibility in the process. Chat application for Linux is simple network based program that uses client-server model. The user has to login to the program by identifying himself through unique name. The logged users can see all other users logged in. The user can select any one among those and can chatting as they like. The server process is a daemon which is always running and looks for small editor to type in the messages and a noon editing window for seeing the messages incoming from other users. Here window creation is done in keeping user interface as important issue.

Project Title (8th SEM): SECURE MOBILE BASED VOTING SYSTEM Duration Members Platform Description : Four months : 4 : jsp, java, msql : Mobile communication systems of today provide increased availability,

miniaturization and enhanced data rates. This emergence is expected to enhance the deployment of mobile systems in many services. One area of activity is mobile Election (one of the first areas of transaction using mobile devices).In our Project, Mobile technology-IVR is used for election polling. A Person needs to call a Number authorized by the Election Committee. First the person will be evaluated asking for the biometric election card number. An algorithm is implemented for security reasons. Once the person is authorized, he can continue with the polling process. After that, IVR will play the various parties contesting in elections. Based on the User inputs, polling will be recorded. User inputs can either be DTMF or Speech Recognition.
