Lesson Objectives: 1. The students will be able to construct a diagram of the Solar System starting from the sun and working their way out. (synthesize) 2. The students will be able to summarize the different components of the Solar System in the diagram and how they are interconnected. (evaluation)

Introduce the Learning Activity: A. I will explain the website that the students will be working with; its purpose and the relevance to my lesson. In order to explain what they will be doing I will open up the website on the smartboard as well as have the students go to the same website to follow along.

B. A motivator for the students will be that once they finish the online activity they will get the chance to begin their homework. If they finish their homework in class, they will not have any homework that night. The students will get interested in this lesson because the interactive website s are interesting as well as informative. Information: A. Everything that is needed for this lesson will be posted on my website under the Student Resources, and the website will be listed under the classroom activities section of my website. By posting everything on the website the students will be able to access all the information that they need to be active participants in the class. Practice: A. Through the in class time the students will be able to get themselves acquainted with the website and their homework before being set out to continue the work on their own. B. The students will be going through the website individually. The homework will also be done individually; however, the students will be allowed to work on their homework with a friend as well. The homework is a way for the students to review, so if they work together they will be able to help each other out. Knowledge of Results: A. I will provide verbal feedback to the students by walking around and observing their progress on the website and seeing if they are working diligently or if they have any questions pertaining to the lesson or the activities done throughout the lesson. After I collect the homework and take a look at it I will talk to the students who seem to have more clarification needed. B. I will also collect their homework and give them written feedback to determine if they have found all the correct answers, this way I can check to get and understanding of who may need more help and who seems to be getting the information. Review Activity: A. After the lesson and the classroom activities are completed I will have the students tell me what it was that we went over today as a way to clarify that everyone has an understanding of the lesson. Method of Assessment: A. In order to see if my students have gained an understanding I will collect their homework and correct it to give students feedback. At the end of the last day of the lesson I will give the students a summative assessment that will cover everything that we have gone over in the last couple of weeks.
