The Earth The Paleozoic period is mostly responsible for the evolution of fish, reptiles, insects, and vascular

plants. This era ended with a mass extinction of 95% of the earths inhabitants.

Pangea gave rise to Laurasia & Gondwana 245-65 million years ago

The mesosoic era saw the prolification of terrestrial ecosystems and especially dinasours .

Laurasia & Gondwana became what we now know as the 7 continents of present day. Aproximatly 65 million years ago an astroid hit the yuaton peninsela i n mexico ending most life and begining this new era.

Monera: Kingdom Monera includes all organisms with a prokaryotic cell. Monera has been divided into two domains, Bacteria and Archaea. Eukarya is the third domain system.

Protista Plantae Kingdoms a very diverse kingdom, found all over the world, from the deserts to the mountains and everywhere in between.

Kingdom Fungi have a diverse population of organisms, ranging from parasites to fungi that actually help other plants grow (mutualism).

Kingdom Animalia are multicellular organisims. WIth over one million species they are diverse and abundant. They are classified by tissue and body cavity.

Prokaryotes

Eukaryotes: Cells that have a true nucleus. Kingdoms Protista, Fungi, Plantae and Animalia are all eukaryotes.

Sarcodina: This phylum contains all amoebas. There are three different types of amoebas, Phylum Rhizopoda, Phylum Actinopoda. and Phylum Foraminifera

Apicomplexa: This phylum causes malaria and is called Plasmodium. It is commonly reffered to as sporozoans. All organisms in Apicomplexa are parasitic

Non Vascular Non vascular plants are the lowest form in Kingdom Plantae, which include mosses, l iverworts and hornworts.

Gymnosperms are vascular, with naked seeds, or seeds that are not enclosed in a fruit or flower. Phylum Zygomycota help in the decomposition of dead things, which they feed off. Included in this phylum are things like bread mold. Reproduction is sexual or asexual.

Phylum Duertomycota contains many fungi, such as many of the parasitic varieties (Athletes foot or ringworm). Fungi in this phylum are so grouped because they only produce asexually. Phylum Basidiomycota is probably the most well known, including edible mushrooms, toadstools, puffballs and fairy rings. Reproduction, again, is sexual and asexual.

Phylum Parazoa lack true tissue. They are asymmetrical and sessile and lack organs.

Phylum Eumetazoa contain a large and diverse number of organisms that can be further classified.Theyare distinguished as having true tissue.

Algea: There are many different kinds of algae some kinds are Phylum Phaeophyta, Phylum Rhodophyta and Phylum Cholorophyta Ciliophora: It is named ciliophira becuase it possess cilia. A unique feature of the Phylum Ciliophora is the trichocysts

Division Lychophyta, or Club Mosses, do have true roots and are found mostly n damp areas Angiosperms are vascular and are called the flowering plants. They are the most diverse of Kindgod Plantae.

Phylum Ascomycota include truffles, morels and baking yeast. They produce sexually and asexually.

The phyllum Eumetazoa is further classified by symmetry radial symmetry cover phylum ctinophora and Cinidaria. These organisms are all diploblastic, containing two tissue layers.

Bilateral symmetry cover the remainder of the kingdom animalia and are all triploblastic. They are later classified by body cavity.
