Pennsylvania Academic Standard(s) addressed during this lesson: (Provide Standard number and statement) Lesson Objective(s) (Stated in observable and measurable terms) Following a review a assigned vocabulary words from the novel , Tuesdays with Morrie, the students will complete a glogster poster displaying their knowledge of assigned vocabulary words. Assessment Plan (What will be done to determine if lesson objectives have been met?) The students will be assessed using a teacher-made rubric. Materials: Computer Tuesdays with Morrie novel Access to glogster Vocabulary list Inclusion Techniques for Students with Special Needs: Students may need step-by-step directions for this assignment. The teacher may need to check for understanding. Teacher should also model one example before students begin their first part of their glogster posters. Lesson Differentiation (What modifications/accommodations will be made to ensure that ALL students have access to and are able to participate in the lesson): Students who are not visual learners, will be permitted to use text rather than having to find images. .

Lesson Presentation
Introduction/Motivational Activities/Anticipatory Set: Teacher will display a glogster poster demonstrating 5 of the vocabulary words from the novel Tuesdays with Morrie. Detailed Teaching Sequence: (Provide sufficient detail that would enable a substitute to effectively present this lesson. Bulleted statements are preferred) 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Teacher will review instructions for vocabulary assignment. Teacher will demonstrate how to access and the steps of the process of putting together a glogster poster. Teacher will hand out rubrics to review with students to be sure they understand what they will be graded on. Teacher will assign vocabulary words to each student. Students will be responsible for the word, an image, a sentence from the book and a definition.

Students will be given first half of class to find the sentence from the book and write their definitions. Teacher should check for understanding before proceeding to the computer lab. Upon arrival at the computer lab, teacher should review how to set up and access glogster. Students begin working on their glogster posters.

10. They will have until the end of the second half of class to complete their posters.

Guided Practice/Independent Practice/Assessment Activities Students will be assessed with teacher-made rubric when they share their posters with the class on the next day. Closure: Teacher should check that everyone has completed assignments or if anyone requires more time to finish.
