Everything in Vinci town tells us about the Genius: his house, the church where he was baptized, the streets and the squares of the castle that still have their medieval appearance. Leonardo's presence can be felt everywhere. You can get to know him better by walking through the countryside outside of town in search of the very same landscape at which Leonardo gazed. After a brief stop over here, you will then move on to Pisa. Once in Pisa, you will walk in the impressive Piazza dei Miracoli, admire the Baptistery and, naturally, the famous Leaning Tower. There is time to shop for souvenirs, before heading back to Florence and your hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure. Wandering around today, you'll see the remains of the docks, warehouses, apartment flats, mansions, shopping arcades, and baths that served a once-thriving port of 60,000 people. Back in the car, and onto the highway to Naples. Once in Naples, you will check in at your 4-star hotel. The balance of the day is at your leisure. Day 12 Naples and Pompeii This morning, you will be taken on a driving tour of Naples to admire some of the sights which have made this city one of the most recognized cities in the world. Before driving to Pompeii, you'll admire wonderful views of the picturesque baroque city of Naples from the terraces of Posillipo. Then, your visit to the haunting ruins of Pompeii will take you back to the fateful day in 79 A.D. when neighboring Mt. Vesuvius erupted, covering the prosperous Roman city in deadly volcanic ash. On your visit to Pompeii you'll be able to explore the fascinating site, expertly led by your tour guide. You'll see the Forum, the Thermal Baths, Vetti's House and the "Lupanare" brothel, all buried by volcanic ashes during the eruption. Back o your hotel, with the rest of the day at your leisure.
