Teacher Candidate: Erich D. Dustin Unit Topic: Cellular Respiration

Essential Question(s): Why is energy efficiency essential?

Lesson Number: 4 State Standards
(performance indicators, key ideas, strands, etc.)

Approximate Time: 1 day Objectives

(Label Blooms)

Acceptable Evidence and Type of Assessment

Living Environment Core Curriculum Standard 5

5.1d In all organisms, the energy stored in organic molecules may be released during cellular respiration. This energy is temporarily stored in ATP molecules. In many organisms, the process of cellular respiration is concluded in mitochondria, in which ATP is produced more efficiently, oxygen is used, and carbon dioxide and water are released as wastes.

1. Students will be able to acceptably answer the questions posed during the Jeopardy game used as a review of cellular respiration prior to summative exam on day 5. (Knowledge, Comprehension, Application & Synthesis)

2. Jeopardy review game (formative)

Summative exam to be administered in the following class period. (Summative)

_______________

__________________________________________________________ 1. The teacher will mediate the review game of Jeopardy for cellular respiration. 2. Prior to starting the review game, the teacher will have the students count off by threes to evenly divide the students into three groups. (Kinesthetic) 3. Once the students are divided accordingly the website: http://www.quia.com/cb/18754.html?AP_rand=2025496414 will be used to host the Jeopardy review game. (Auditory, Visual) (Technology Integration) 4. The teacher will ensure that the concepts from the game are understood after each question, prior to advancing the game further. 5. The teacher will ensure that all students are participating in the review game during the collaborative learning.

1. Jeopardy Game (Content) 2. Collaborative answering. The teacher will ensure that all students are participating in the review game. (Informal) 3. The teacher will ensure that the concepts from the game are understood after each question, prior to advancing the game further. (Informal) Homework A review sheet for further review for students prior to summative exam in the following class. Using this form of review is beneficial for many students, however it is in everyones best interest to go home this evening and study in a manner that is beneficial to your own style of learning. The use of the homework assignment to guide you through your studying will be helpful.
