Upcoming Activities at the Jackson District Library, Spring Arbor Branch


Writers Group The monthly meeting of the writers group will occur on Monday, December 19, from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. All are welcome. Please bring a piece of writing you are working on. The other members of the group will provide encouragment and feedback. For more information, please contact Linda at 517-750-2030. Christmas Cookie Decorating Children aged 3-8 years old are welcome to come and decorate Christmas cookies. Frosting and cookies will be provided. A Christmas Story will be projected on the wall during this event, which will take place on Wednesday, December 21, from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. For more information, please call Maria at 517-750-2030. Showing of Despicable Me All ages are welcome to come to the Spring Arbor branchs showing of the family-friendly movie Despicable Me on Friday, December 30, beginning at 6:15 p.m. Children will laugh as they watch Gru, a super villian, take in three young children and learn to love them, assisted by his minion cousins, all while trying to steal the moon. Marriage Matters Jackson Presents Pick a Partner, an Event for Singles


JACKSON, MIMarriage Matters Jackson will hold a three-week course entitled Pick a Partner: for Singles on Thursdays, January 5, 12, and 19. The class will take place at Mats Caf, located at 212 S. Mechanic Street, in Jackson, 49201. Whether you are single or single again, learn how to look for the right person in this fun, three-week workshop, which includes meaningful information and a delicious dinner each week. For immediate release. December 13, 2011 Community-wide dinner to be held on Christmas in Spring Arbor, MI What: Are your children spending Christmas with in-laws? Are you new to the community and spending Christmas alone? You are welcome to attend a special, FREE Christmas meal. This dinner will feature a host of wonderful foods, including baked ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, fresh fruit, dinner salad, and a variety of delectable desserts. Volunteers will serve your Christmas dinner to you with a musical background provided by some of the membetrs of the Spring Arbor University String Ensemble. Who: This dinner will be hosted by the Spring Arbor Free Methodist Church. However, all community members are welcome and encouraged to attend. Where: This dinner will take place at the Community Family Center at Spring Arbor Free Methodist Church. The church is located at 120 E. Main Street in Spring Arbor, MI 49283.
