A nanofluidic device can amplify the electrical current from redox molecules inside the cavity by a factor of 400 through redox cycling. We demonstrate sensitivity to fluctuations of as few as 70 molecules. The ability to locally detect few or individual molecules in solution is at present largely limited to fluorescence techniques.
