DECEMBER, 2011 ISSUE 5
as we celebrate this Holy Season in a Spirit of Reverence and Awe!
We have shared God`s love through the Gospel Message at each mission sta-
tion, received presents, listened to and sung JOY to the WORLD, the LORD
has come.........the church has responded to God`s call as they have IaithIully
sent forth their missionaries to be the hands, feet and Hope of Christ to those
who have lost their hope, their jobs, their families, and their friends. Our fifth
MADE FOR MISSIONS newsletter pictures God`s IaithIul servants as they
have celebrated the Birthday of Jesus Christ our LORD and Savior. As the end
of another years grows closer, we thank the servants who serve as Mission
Station Directors, the countless volunteers who faithfully give of their time,
the many donors who give so generously of their treasure, and the intercessors
who are compelled by His love to speak our needs at each visitation to His
Throne. Without the Body working together there would be no celebration.
May God`s peace and rest Iall upon each oI you as you contemplate His love
and listen to His Holy Hush during Christmas.

We have received many gifts in donations this past year. The donations include fab-
ric supplies, estate sale leftovers, bread, clothing, furniture, toys, money, home-
schooling books, electronic equipment and household items. This windfall is both a
blessing and a problem. Our attic is stacking up. We are seeking ways to give away
and sell our inventory. This also means we are seeking volunteers to organize and
manage the inventory in our storage attic.

We are blessed at the Women`s Well! With the assistance oI lots oI women, we have
managed to keep things moving and growing. We are movers and shakers for the
glory of God. Our blessings are new members, Bible studies, serving the needs of
others, events and Iellowships, and receiving many donations. These are just a Iew oI God`s many blessings.

Rev. Marian Marie Fullard is leading our Tuesday Morning Bible Study (10:30 12:00).
She brings not only years of experienced Bible teaching but also a gentle way of engag-
ing us to participate (or not participate.) Through our study, we are learning and better
understanding the message oI the Bible: 'love one another.
All women are welcomed at the Well. If you think you might be interested in becoming
a volunteer at the Women`s Well, please contact Dianne at 803-606-1780.

A big "THANK YOU" to the Bird family for hosting our Thanksgiving cele-
bration. Over 20 children enjoyed roaming their property, petting the horses
and making crafts. We were all treated to a spectacular Thanksgiving feast
and a play about Thanksgiving performed by a very talented homeschool
drama club. Many thanks to all of the volunteers who helped make this
"their favorite day ever!" (an actual quote from one of the kids)

n late July as the GED Intensive Team was preparing for its up-
coming 3 Week Intensive and 1 Week Fast Track Camps, they
discovered that many of the potential Fast Track candidates were unable
to attend the camps. These candidates, although desiring to get their
GED, could not be away from work or could not leave their small chil-
dren at home for the week.

Since most of these candidates lived in the Aiken area, the GED Team
decided to initiate a new offering in Aiken to be called Fast Track Satur-
day. There were seven candidates invited but only four made a commit-
ment to come. Two of these candidates were a father and his daughter. This is a story about the father, Bill, and
his family. Although Bill was working full time he had dropped out of school over 25 years ago and had now
seen his daughter and 2 sons follow in his footsteps. Not satisfied with the example he had set for his family
Bill decided to attempt to get his GED and was quickly joined by his daughter. Since the GED Exam was to be
given August 26 at the Christ Central Hope Plaza's testing site in Columbia there would be time for only three
Fast Track Saturday training sessions.

At the second Saturday session, Bill shared that he had come to the GED Preparation offering to be a role
model for his kids but now had a desire to achieve the GED for himself. Bill and his daughter Susan studied
hard outside of class and even developed a friendly competition. The other students enjoyed seeing Bill beat his
daughter on some of the practice test.
When time for the GED exam arrived Bill was not sure he was quite ready but was eager to give it a go. When
their GED exam results were posted both Bill and Susan had scored 500 points more than the required 2250
and yes Bill had actually beaten Susan in one portion of the test.

Two weeks later, during an assessment testing session, Bill's wife brought their youngest son John to be evalu-
ated and told us that John and their older son Joe wanted to come to the Saturday Fast Track sessions.
A few weeks later John and Joe were two of the 11 new Fast Track Saturday students. During the weeks that
followed, John shared how he and his sister Susan had become very involved in their church and how they
shared their new found joy with everyone who would give them an opportunity. One of our GED Team instruc-
tors, who taught John in middle school, shared how poorly John had done while in school. Each week the Team
was encouraged by John's attitude and his willingness to work on areas of difficulty. John also encouraged his
neighbor to join the Saturday class.

During the past few weeks John, Joe and the neighbor all passed their GED. John and Susan have also found
full-time employment. Now Bill and his three children have passed their GED and have full-time employment.
This all came about because the GED Team, in the middle of intensive camps in Wagener, were willing to initi-
ate a new Fast Track Saturday offering and because a father wanted to be a role model for his children.
Maybe you know a father like Bill or a son like John who struggled tremendously in school? How are you en-
riching your community and helping individuals and families overcome bad choices in life?

Would being involved in Christ Central's GED Intensive opportunities bring value to your community

"One Step at a Time"

It had been a long day doing the Lord`s work. It had reached nighttime and I was
still beating the pavement in our ministry`s neighborhood trying to track down permission Iorms we handed out
earlier for an upcoming field trip. My spirit was heavy laden and burdened for the people I serve. The day of
hands-on work had been hard and tiring. However, as I put one foot in front of the other, I almost ran into a young
lady who looked to live in the projects. Although I didn`t even recognize her, she immediately called me by
name. The only thing she said was 'Ms. Michelle, I`ve been praying Ior you, and then she was gone. The Lord
knew I needed to hear a word of encouragement. With those simple words, I was able to put some 'pep in my
step and return to the work the Lord has called me to do.

We are all called to lift our brothers and sisters up in prayer! So I ask, who can you pray for today? You may
never know how much they need you to intercede on their behalf.

The Columbia Fire Department, thanks to Assistant Chief Harry Tinsley, brought a fire
truck by the ministry today and educated the children on fire safety and how the fire truck
works. The children had a great time asking questions and making fun of one of the fire-
men who had to dress up in all of his gear. A big thank you to all who made this special
event takes place!

BLESSINGS FROM BRUSHY CREEK..........

What a weekend. The bus arrived at 2:40 pm at CCM -Joanna and we
only had 7 children and three relatives plus Regina and Rudy and me.
We couldn't get out of the parking lot until 3:20 pm because of
the Joanna Christmas parade. We arrived at Brushy Creek Baptist
Church and was welcomed by a group of teens with a large WEL-
COME banner. We spent the next hour practicing for the Christ-
mas musical. Then we were treated with pizza. Then it was time
for the performance. Cody was Cody. He was allowed to be one
of the Magi in the play and proceeded to open the gift box to see
what it contained, When a couple of the other children tried to
contain him he punched one and threatened another. Then he
jumps off the platform and goes to sit by the director and tried to
show her what she was doing wrong. When the performance was
over there was a fellowship time with cake and snacks. We then boarded the bus and went to the Roper Mtn. Sci-
ence center to see Santa and all the lights.

Spirit of Giving Testimony of a

My family and I were very thankful to have the honor of helping out
Saturday. My kids said dad, can we help every year at this event. I
said we will make it an annual family event and next year block out
the entire day. I would like to be included in more of your events and
times where the Boltons can volunteer. My kids impressed me over
and over again with their kind spirit to families and to other chil-
dren. I am so glad to be affiliated with Christ Central and with God's
family of brothers and sisters. I get so busy and have so many things
happening in my life and the life of my family, but have no excuse
for not doing more for others. Thanks again for letting us serve, please keep us informed with these opportuni-
ties. I would love to see our family do this at least once a month. I have never seen my children cry with happiness
as we drove off Sat just around noon. I also heard them during prayers at our Praise and Worship service at Tren-
holm Road Methodist yesterday, actually praying for some of the families they helped on Sat.

God Bless You and the Christ Central Ministry!
Thanks Again, Clay, Ann, Fowler, and Wells Bolton
