Remove the ignition coils (H). Tightening torque: 7.2 ~ 8.7 lb-ft (9.8 ~
11.8 N.m)
8.
NOTICE
When reinstalling the cylinder head cover bolts, tighten them in the sequence as shown in the picture in two cycles, using the tightening torque specified below.
Tightening torque: 1st cycle: 3 ~ 4.3 lb-ft (4 ~ 5.9 N.m) 2nd cycle: 6 ~ 7.2 lb-ft lb-ft (8 ~ 9.8 N.m)

While an assistant is cranking the engine, visually inspect the tip of each HLA (16 total) for engine oil being injected out.
: HLA
NOTICE
DO NOT crank the engine for more than 30 seconds at a time to prevent damage to the starter motor. (J): Engine oil is injecting out from the top of the HLAs.
10.
If engine oil is confirmed to be injecting out of all HLAs, then it is NORMAL and HLA replacement is not required. Complete the inspection procedure by reinstalling all removed components in reverse order of removal. If engine oil is not injecting out of all HLAs, then replace ALL (16 in total) HLAs with new ones following the replacement procedure in the next page.

For further information, refer to the applicable shop manual. 1. 2. Lift up the vehicle, and then remove the right front wheel and tire. 3. Remove the under and side cover (A) by loosening the mounting bolts and fasteners. 4. Set No.1 cylinder to TDC (Top Dead Center) on compression stroke. 1) Rotate the crankshaft pulley (B) clockwise to align its white groove with the 0 mark on the timing chain cover.
2) Remove the valve cover and then check that the TDC marks of the intake and exhaust CVVT cam sprockets are in a straight line (C) facing each other on the cylinder head surface as shown in the picture to confirm that it is at No. 1 cylinder TDC. If not, then rotate the crankshaft clock-wise by exactly one full revolution (360). Be sure to position the crankshaft pulley white groove again to the 0 mark on the timing chain cover.

NOTICE
When reinstalling the camshaft bearing cap bolts, tighten them gradually in cycles using the sequence as shown on the right.
Tightening torque: M6 Bolts: 8.7 ~ 10.1 lb-ft (11.8 ~ 13.7 N.m) M8 Bolts: 13.7 ~ 16.6 lb-ft lb-ft (18.6 ~ 22.6 N.m)

2) Rotate the crankshaft two full turns clock- wise and then check that the TDC marks of the CVVT cam sprockets are in straight line (P) facing each other on the cylinder head surface as shown in the picture. Confirm that both cam sprockets are properly timed at TDC with the crankshaft pulley white groove to the 0 mark on the timing chain cover.
13.
After the CVVT cam sprocket and crankshaft pulley TDC timing is confirmed, reinstall the valve cover.
NOTICE
Be sure to apply a fresh bead of RTV liquid gasket along the top parting lines between the timing chain cover and the cylinder head prior to reinstalling the valve cover. For further information, refer to the applicable shop manual. 14. Reconnect the battery and start the engine. Check for any oil leaks. Verify proper operation of the engine. Reset the clock, radio presets, and other accessories (if applicable).
