SPECIAL MESSAGE TO ALL PEOPLE

There are many roads that lead to city but one road to heaven and likewise one church of God.(Eph 4:4 -6).
Christ the way the truth and life to our father in heaven.(john 14:6). The way to heaven is very narrow and very
few wail in it but the way to hell is very wide and many walk in it. (Mat 7:13-14). You have to walk in either of
the two depending on your choice. Those in the way to heaven form what is called the church of God. When
Christ comes, He is coming for one bride not two and that is his church which must be without spot or blemish
but perfect in the truth (doctrine) of God. (Eph 5:25-27).those in the church of God must be born again by
accepting Jesus Christ as their personal saviour and hence called children of God (john 1:12) otherwise they
remain children of the devil (john 8:44). Hopefully you may be interested in knowing more about the church of
God and also to belong to that church. Remember there is one church (the bride of Christ) as Christ is not a
polygamist.
What then are the characteristics of God’s church?
The holy bible as Holy Scriptures from God
The church of God believes in the holy bible as Holy Scripture from God. They are called holy because the men
who wrote them were holy and were inspired by the Holy Spirit to write the message they got through the
visions, dreams etc from God who is also holy (2Peter 1:19-21) nothing to be substituted or added to the
bible(Prov 30:6,rev 22:18) holy scriptures serve as light(psalm119:105) for sanctification.(john17:17) for proof,
correction(2tim 3:15-17), for new birth(1peter 1:23)for conviction(Heb 4:12, Jer23:29) restoration of
hope(rom15:4) warning(Gen 20:3) encouragement(Gen46:2-3)etc. even the Koran ascertain them(Sura 5:45,47-
48,67). How blessed are you if you trust, read and follow the bible (luke8:21, 11:28, Rev1:3, Psalm119:11,
john5:24, isaiah34:16, acts17:11) you will be like a wise man who built his house on a firm rock (mat 7:24-27)
God the creator
The church of God believes in the God almighty as the creator of heaven and earth (Gen 1:1-31; exodus20:11;
psalms100:3) He is the only one who deserves worship; we shouldn’t worship other gods or images (exodus
20:3-6) we are not supposed to trust in evil spirits; those are media of the devil (Rev12:7-8). As a church of God
we should not be misled by the miracles of the devil (2Thess2:9-12) God will punish those who consult the
spirit of the devil (1 Samuel 28:30, 1 Chron10:13-14, Gal5:19-21, Rev21:8). We are seriously warned against
evil spirit. (Eph 6:10-18; 1cor10:20-22; acts17:22-23; Deut18:10-12; Numbers23:23; acts 19:19-20). We should
not give the devil chance (Eph 4:27, James 4:7). Worship only God in truth and spirit, for the hour of his
judgment is near. (john4:23-24; Rev 14:6-7, 9-12) Jesus has higher powers over the evil spirits/devil (mark
9:17-27, Luke 8:2-32, Rev 12:7-8).
The sacrificial death of Jesus Christ
The church of God believes in the death of Jesus Christ as the only sacrifice for our sins. Through one man
Adam we all sinned (Rom 5:12) and deserved eternal death (Rom 6:23). But because of the agape (God’s love)
for mankind, He gave his only begotten son, Jesus Christ to die in our place (Gen 3:15,Isaiah 53:3-9,Isaiah
63:8,7;7:14,john3:16,mat 1:21-23,acts 4:12). Even if we die having accepted Christ as our redeemer. He will
resurrect us (john11:24-25,1Cor 15:20-25, Rev 1:18).Jesus’ blood cleanses us of our sins (2Cor 5:21, Rom3:23-
25, 1 Pet 2:22-25). Salvation is for all without discrimination (Rom10:9-13, Eph2:11-13, Acts 10:28-35). The
Koran ascertains this in (Sura 19:19-21, Sura 3:46-50). Jesus is now seated on the right hand of God the father
serving as our advocate (1John2:1-2) then he will finally come back to redeem us from this world of sin
(john14:1-6; Heb 9:28). Do you now accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior? Today is your day of
salvation; tomorrow it will be too late. He is soon coming for his saints who will accept him.
Baptism by immersion
The church of God believes in the baptism by immersion. When one accepts Christ, He/she denounces his or
old life of Adam and now begins a new life in Christ. Dead things are buried deep in the soil. Likewise the dead
self of Adam is buried in water and then comes out (resurrect with new life in Jesus Rom6:3-5). Prerequisite for
baptism involves repentance and accepting Jesus as the saviour (mat3:1-8, Act2:37-38). There is one mode of
baptism and that is by immersion in deep water (Eph 4:4-5, john3:23). Jesus demonstrated this (mat 3:15-17)
whoever want to reach heaven must accept Jesus and be born of the water and Holy Spirit. (Mark16:15,
John3:3-5) it is God’s plan you to get baptized now and be forgiven your sins(luke20;1-7,7:27-30)Why don’t
you follow the example of the Eunuch(Acts8:35-39)
The Holy Spirit
The church of God believes that the Holy Spirit as a personality of the God head. A guide to the children of God
(Rom8:14). The church of God is gifted by the holy spirit for the best ministry in the church (1 Cor12:4-11) but
of all the gifts preaching the gospel is the very essential (Acts2:4-11, 1Cor14:1-6). Through the inspiration of
the holy spirit, we understand the holy scriptures (john14:16-17, 16:7-14).when a believer is baptized, He/she is
given the gift of the holy spirit.(mat 3:16,Acts2:38). This is what is meant as the new birth.(joh3:3-5) The Koran
affirms the necessity of the holy spirit(Sura 2:88,254)
The law as the character of God
The church of God believes in the moral law as the God’s character. The ten commandments of God (Exod
20:3-17) reveal the character of God, i.e of love which must be instilled in his children. When one becomes the
child of God he/she must be obedient to God by loving God and his/her fellow man. Jesus didn’t do way with
the law (mat 5:17-19) but instead was obedient to his father (john15:10). By breaking one of the
commandments, we become sinners (1 john3:4, James 2:10-12). By faith in Christ we uphold the law
(Rom3:31) and keep it as the sign of love (Rom13:10). The law of God is holy (Rom7:12-14). Note we are not
saved by keeping the law but by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. However the law reveal sin (Rom7:7)
keeping the law is one of the true characteristic of God’s church (Rev 12:17, 14:12). In vain do they worship
God, those who break the law of God (mark7:7-9). Those in Christ obey the law or else they are liar (1John2:3-
6). Do you want the character of God to be instilled in you? Fully surrender to Christ; he will fulfill it in you.
The Sabbath of God
The Sabbath is a holy day instituted by God (Gen2:1-3). God rested on that day, blessed it and set it apart as a
special day. Its observance acknowledges him as the creator, redeemer and sanctifier.(Exo20:8-11,Deut5:12-
15,Ezek20;12,20). It’s met to the Jews and the non Jews (Isaiah 56:2-6, 58:13-14, mark2:27, Heb4:9-11).this
Sabbath is the seventh day (Saturday) Luke 23:54-56 (good news bible) rather than Sunday which is the first
day of the week (Luke 24:1-3). Sabbath begin at sunset on Friday and ends on sunset on Saturday. (lev23:32).
Jesus, Paul and other apostles observed the Sabbath (Luke 4:16, Acts17:2, 13). Any obedient child of God
should obey the law of God hence keep the Sabbath as Saturday not Sunday. The attempt to change the Sabbath
from Saturday to Sunday as prophesied in Daniel 7:25 was done by the Roman kings jointly with the religious
leaders of the apostatized Roman church in the year 321 AD and then effected in 538 AD. “They worship me in
vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men. You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to
the traditions of men” Mark 7; 7-8, James 2:10
Holy Communion
The church of God believes in the Holy Communion for all the sinners who repent their sins and confess Jesus
Christ as their savior. This is done in remembrance of the body and the blood that were offered by Jesus as a
sacrifice for all the sinners 91 Cor11:23-26) any other celebrations like Easter, Christmas and others are not
biblical and therefore a requirement for salvation. A number of things are done during the Holy Communion and
these include. Earnest confession of sins to God and fellow (man who you offended) this course calls for self
examination (1 Cor11:28), acknowledging Jesus Christ as sacrifice for sin, there must be foot-washing as sign
of humility and unity (John13:12-17). Then the unleavened bread and unfermented wine/juice may be served
separately not bread soaked in wine (mat 26:26-28). In doing this we renew our covenant with Jesus. Why don’t
you repent your sins and renew your covenant with Jesus? Blessed are you if you know this and follow it. (John
13:17)
Death and resurrection of the saints
The church of God believes in the total death of the person until resurrection when Christ comes the second
time. The breath of life separates from the body and no part remains a living soul. (Gen2:7, Job27:3, Eccl9:5,
12:7). Believer don’t go to heaven when they die neither do the wicked go to hell until Jesus’ coming and then
He will resurrect us and restore life in us and take us to heaven. (John5:27-30,14:1-3,1 Thess4:13-
17,1Cor15:50-54). There is no need to consult the dead, for they know nothing (isaiah8:19). When Christ comes
the third time after the 1000 years in heaven with saints, the wicked will be resurrected and then be sentenced
to hell with Satan and his angels (Rev20:5-10). Blessed are they that die in Christ for their works go with them.
(Rev14:13).
Our bodies are God’s temple
The church of God believes in keeping our bodies pure as the temple of God. Abstain from such things like
alcohol, tobacco, unclean “foods” (lev11:1-29, isaiah65:3-4, prov 20:1, 23:20). Drunkards and adulterers shall
not go to heaven (Gal5:15-21, Exo20:14, Prov7:1-23). Honor God in every thing you do, be it in eating,
drinking etc. (1 Cor10:31) If you destroy the temple of God, He will destroy you too. (1 Cor3:16-17).
