- Adapun kelebihan belajar disebutkan tentang hadith daripada riwayat Muslim menyebutBarangsiapa

menuntut ilmu bererti menuntut jalan ke syurga. Bagi orang Islam syurga adalah ganjaran paling tertinggi dan paling dikehendaki. Maka mereka yang berlajar ilmu sebelum mendapat ganjaran akhirat di dunia lagi dijanjikan dengan janji sentiasa mendapat perlindungan sayap malaikat kerana redha dengan apa yang mereka lakukan. Malah kelebihan belajar ini diperkukuh dengan hadith riwayat Ibn Abdul Barr dan Ibn Majah Belajar satu bab daripada ilmu lebih baik dari sembahyang (sunat) seratus rakaat.[3] -Islam sejak awal-awal lagi menyatakan bahwa belajar ilmu itu wajib berterusan dari buaian sampai ke liang lahad. Abu Zar meriwayatkan menghadiri majlis ilmu seorang alim lebih baik daripada bersembahyang (sunat) seribu rakaat, menziarahi seribu orang pesakit, dan menghadiri pengkebumian seribu jenazah Malah ditanyakan kepada nabihatta lebih baik daripada membaca al-Quran?. Lalu nabi menjawab Apa faedahnya al-Quran jika tidak berilmu.[4] - Dalil paling kuat tentang kelebihan ilmu apabilaIqra` ayat pertama diturunkan.Sedangkan membaca adalah anak kunci kepada ilmu. Kemudian baru turun ayat supaya beramal melalui surah al-Muddathir Wahai orang yang berselimut,bangunlah! Dan beri khabar (amaran) * Melalui ilmu manusia dapat membezakan antara haq dengan batil dalam akidah,melalui ilmu dikenali mana yang sunnah dan mana yang bidaah,mana yang soheh dan mana yang fasad dalam mualamat. Ilmu juga memberitahu mana yang halal dan mana yang haram.Malah mana yang boleh diterima dan mana yang patut ditolak. Kesemuanya berteraskan ilmu.[6] * Memandangkan besarnya pengaruh dan kesan ilmu,benarlah kata Sayyidina Umar IbnAbdul Aziz Mereka yang beramal tanpa berasaskan ilmu,keburukannya lebih banyak daripada kebaikan. Malah dalam realiti pun, ramai mereka yang beramal tidak kurang ikhlas,taqwa dan bersemangatnya mereka, tetapi apa yang mereka kurang adalah ilmu. Inilah yang dikatakan terjadi kepada golongan Khawarij yang menentang Sayyidina `Ali k.w.,sehingga sanggup membunuh mereka yang sesama agama.[7] * Keutamaan Memahami Islam Yang Menyeluruh.
