A. Introduction
Kosovo Desk in Friuli Venezia Giulia (DKFVG) is a project funded by the FVG Regional Administration since 2006, with the aim to support and facilitate the economic and business cooperation between Kosovo and FVG. Background informations about the project are available on www.dkfvg.org Within the 2009 edition of the project, a Road Construction Action is being implemented since March 2009. Actually, FVG is one of the most experienced areas in Europe for the road constructions, FVG companies are well known in the world markets for their cooperation with world wide well known architects and designers, for the innovative capacity of the sectors management and ability in implementation of road constructions works.

1. As a first step a delegation of two road

construction designers visited Kosovo in June 2009, with the aim to contact the Kosovar institutions, such as MTPT Roads Department and the Transport Committee (within the Public Services and Infrastructure Collegia) of the Association of Kosovar Municipalities, the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Prishtina University and to meet with the Road Construction Association of Kosovo

2. DKFVG project was honoured to get in FVG a Kosovar delegation, which includes the CEO of RCAK, a delegated representative of the Association of Kosova Municipalities, the dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering of Prishtina University, and four Kosovar companies, together with the project partner, Director of Prishtina REA

Through different programs of the EU, the EBRD and the World Bank the infrastructure gets improved. A special attention is given to the underground construction, road and bridges as well as the civil engineering. In the field of the road construction industry there are hundreds of providers from the construction sector, either Kosova based or international ones. The business mission is especially interesting for the Road Construction sector, focusing on medium enterprises with a high foreign experience, as the roads in the Republic of Kosovo are short and the international presence is very high: Announcements in the field of larger contracts for the road and infrastructure projects allow a quick entrance in a fast growing market. To enable a great number of commercial interesting meetings, there is an active matchmaking event and site visits into the programme.

Special programe activities are:

Info seminar (in Kosovo) with information about politics, market as well as macro

economic, technology, lawful and institutional aspects related to Road Construction Sector. Cooperation market (Matchmaking) with potential partners in individual meeting appointments. Professional translators and advisers will be available. An active visit at the sites for road construction works being done. A thematic Workshop with training subjects provided by the Italian Professors from Trieste Civil Engineering and Architecture faculties at Prishtina University on subject related to Road Design and Project Management. Organizational supervision of the participants, before and during the event. Individual follow up in support of concrete cooperation results.
