INTRODUCTION:

Project Overview
Compucare is a cyber cafe deals in computer accessories, Software CDs but mainly they are CISP Cable Internet Service Provider. They use manual system in recording their client accounts etc. They have 300 Client using 7 Server.. Internally all clients have there specified IP location but externally they use FASCOM leased line

Initial strategy:
Compucare wants to implement a computerized information system to improve four areas: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Client record keeping. Product recording. Client communications. Sales trend analysis. Inventory Stock

Objectives:
We will deliver a computer information system that provides users with detailed procedures on how to apply hardware and software resources that address the information needs itemized above. In addition, the new system will be designed to: 1. not increase the time it takes to complete a normal sale. 2. add no more than 2 hours per week to the time required performing client and master file maintenance. 3. reduce paper work by at least 50%. 4. increase repeat client sales by 5% by the end of the first year of operation.

Recommendations
Facts Findings:
The first challenge to the analyst is to determine in the most general sense weather he can offer a solution to the explicit problems owner has identified. The previous system was a manual system and we are going to convert it to computerized system. Well use the popular microcomputer platform along with several off-the-shelf software packages, which will provide the raw resource for the solution. A combination of word processing, spreadsheet and database software can be tailored to meet all the information needs itemized so far.

System Descriptions:
We are going to carry out the investigation by observation method.

A Brief System Description Task: Client Correspondence INPUTS: Personal checks (Source: Client) Cts (Source: Client) Client name, address (Data Store Retrieval: Client) OUTPUTS: Client name, address (Data Store Update: Client) Mailing labels (Sink: Client) Promotional material (Sink: Client) Task: Inventory INPUTS: Observation of inventory (Data Store Retrieval: Inventory) Observation of sales (Source: Sales System) OUTPUTS: Notes the shortage (Data Store Update: Orders)

Feasibility Assessments Economic Analysis:

Since they deal with hardware, we just need a software which helps Compucare in solving there problem, we are going to get maximum output by utilizing minimum resources (cost)

Technical Analysis:
The new information system will include a computerized point-of-sale and inventory subsystem. The point-of-sale portion will include customer account information to facilitate the correspondence segment of the information system.

Operational Analysis:
It is one of our most important concerns that we keep in mind the existing strength and deficiencies of the system. The system, which we are developing, has got these benefits: 1) User Friendly Interface; Our recommended system has got a Graphical User Interface (GUI). This provides a less learning curve on the user side. Clearly Defined Procedures; Auto Update Feature; Access security; System Recovery.

2) 3) 3) 4)

Scheduled, Timeline & Resource Analysis:

The activities which are involved in this stage includes must match with the term of reference (TOR). Activities mentioned below should be well considered: 1. Planning 2. Site preparation 3. Equipment 4. Training
Activities. First Week. 4-10 (March) Second Week. 11-17(March) Third Week. 18-24(March) Fourth Week. 25-31(March)

As being a system analyst the implementation can be selected by the owner on the following basis or requirements: For Direct conversion: The owner requires no compatibility between old and new system. Can not afford much business interruption The whole system is replaced at one time. For Parallel conversion: Wants to compare old one and new system. When time is not limited for implementation Learning of new options and their usage becomes easy. Owner can afford business interruption. For Pilot conversion: Suitable for large organizations where whole system is very difficult to implement at once so it is implemented in modules or subsystems one at a time (sequentially). For Phased conversion: Here implementation of every sub-system is assigned a fixed time-slot to be implemented and schedule is strictly followed. There is reduced risk whether in terms of cost or disruption of business.
