With a constant flow of new scientific discoveries, keeping up with the world of dental implants and periodontics can be challenging. Therefore, our mission is to provide you with a referral service that enhances your practice and clinical repertoire, and to provide patients with an exceptional treatment that is strictly within the remit of their referral. It gives us great pleasure to offer educational support to referring dentists and their staff. This provides an exclusive platform for growth, discussion and collaboration. It is also a way for us to thank you for your continued support over the past few years. We offer lectures on advanced implant and restorative prosthodontics delivered by Dr Michael Norton and Dr Mamley Reshad and periodontology by Christine Pleasance. There is also something for the whole team with Sheila Scott. Implant Prosthodontic course provides the crucial skills needed to start restoring simple dental implant cases. If you are interested in introducing this service to your practice please feel free to register. Finally, we have set up a Dental Buying Group to offer our referring dentists excellent discounts on dental materials. The more dentists who join, the bigger the discount. We look forward to seeing you in the next twelve months and continuing to work with your patients.

As we push the boundaries for rehabilitation with dental implants, we have seen a significant trend towards working outside of the safety zone with dental implants. Reduced healing times, immediate placement and most significantly immediate restoration have found favour in an attempt to save time, reduce tissue loss and to provide an instant fixed aesthetic solution. This presentation will consider how such cases can be executed in a clinical predictable manner utilising the latest concepts in virtual planning and how this plan can be transferred via simple anatomical guides or computer-based stereo lithographic guides for optimal implant placement. Prosthetic manipulation of soft tissues with temporary as well as definitive prostheses using a computerized virtual abutment design system can help to achieve functional and aesthetic success, in particular when used with zirconia materials. Dr Michael Norton graduated from the University of Wales, School of Dental Medicine, in 1998. He runs a world renowned practice dedicated to implant and reconstructive dentistry in Harley Street, London. He is a specialist in Oral Surgery and in 2007 was awarded the prestigious Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, for his contribution to the field of implant dentistry. Dr Norton is Board Member & Fellow of the Academy of Osseointegration and is Past President and Honorary Life Member of the Association of Dental Implantology, UK. He is currently Associate editor of the International Journal of Oral& Maxillofacial Implants (JOMI). Dr Norton lectures internationally and is widely published including one of the earliest Quintessence textbooks published in 1995. This lecture is open to all GDPs. For Dentists who are now restoring implant cases, and those interested in incorporating dental implants into general practice.

Endorsement from GDP who has done implant restoration for patients
I have been restoring implants for about 5 years now and it really has only been possible because my referral relationship with Hamed. As a single handed general practitioner with a special interest in restorative and endodontic procedures it was difficult to justify the time and expense to train to do implant fixture placement. Would I ever get experienced enough to feel I was offering a comparable service to my endodontic and general restorative procedures? Hamed has been very open and generous with his expertise not only in placing implant fixtures for many of my patients but also in training and advice for me on the restorative aspects. I do genuinely feel that my practice and service to patients has benefited from working with Hamed and I am very happy to endorse and recommend the service he provides. An aspect that I also appreciate is his focus on communication. We have a good exchange of correspondence. Letters are also sent and copied to patients. They are well looked after and are informed and involved in the decision making. David English, GDP Norwich

This Presentation aims to lift the large cloud of confusion that surrounds contemporary dental ceramics and their application. A systematic solution will be provided for common clinical situations. A complete range of common clinical situations will be discussed. This includes, important sequencing and design consideration for restoring implants adjacent to ceramic restorations. The following questions will be addressed: How do we achieve longevity while maintaining a high level of aesthetics? Why, when and where should each contemporary ceramic material be used? What role do soft tissues play in ceramic material selection? Participation in this presentation will allow delegates to be able to communicate more effectively with dental technicians. They will also be able to use dental ceramics predictably with dental implants. The NDS Dental Buying Group was set up in April 2011 and we have several practices enjoying the benefits of being a member. The Buying Group was set up with the aim to enable us to negotiate the lowest possible cost of materials and dental equipment. After consulting with all the leading suppliers, Wright Cottrell provided the best deal. We are currently enjoying the benefit of substantial discounts of up to 27% plus a 5% rebate paid quarterly. To give you an idea of how it works: No joining fee. Each member practice orders as usual. The supplier holds details of each member practice and invoices them directly. The group discount is included on each invoice. The rebate is paid quarterly. As the Buying Group is proving to be a great success we would like to invite other referring practices to join us and enjoy the same benefits. Please contact Sue at Norfolk Dental Specialists for further information email: sue@perionorfolk.co.uk or call: 01603 632525.
