Abstract
This study aims to analyze the morphometric or geometric properties of
drainage systems and drainage network for Dohuk area's drainage basins
scientifically and certainly by geometric principles and bases.
Satellite image, topographic maps and aerial photographs used in this study for
merging its results together and preparing a drainage basin's maps for study area, by
drawing a drainage network from a satellite image and completing other data such as
triangular points and painting the covered drainage by water from topographic maps,
with ensuring a drainage existent which is affected by urban planning and erosion
from aerial photographs because it has high resolution.

As a final result from morphometric analysis of drainage basins for study area,
that it could be determine a geometric properties as a digital data showing drainage
density for drainage basins which is ended by Dohuk dam, that it is constructed on
Dohuk valley at 1988. Also suggesting a position for another dam at Besarey Gully in
study area for harvesting rainfall and use it in Summer Season.
