EMPLOYMENT HISTORY Department of Veterans Affairsa"Dayton, OH NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR June 2009 a" July 2010 I was responsible for providing network support for the Dayton VA Medical Center . Primary responsibilities included installing, maintaining, and troubleshootin g Cisco switches, routers, and wireless access points. I successfully upgraded IOS on more than 100 Cisco 3750, and 6500 switches without major disruptions. Other accomplishments included implementation of network management systems suc h as: Cisco Works, SolarWinds CatTools, and APC IPX surveillance & environmenta l monitoring system. I also accurately documented the Dayton VA Medical Center Campus LAN/WAN topology using MS Visio, and performed an IP address audit and cr eated a new IP address inventory system. Kettering Medical Centera"Kettering, OH NETWORK ENGINEER October 2005 a" September 2007 My primary responsibilities were network design and providing network support fo r the Kettering Health Network. My duties included implementing network solutio ns using Cisco routers, switches, wireless access points, and firewalls. Some o f the switch platforms I managed were 6509, 4506, and 3750 multi-layer switches. I also implemented solutions using Cisco 7206 ASDM routers, PIX/ASA, FWSM fire walls, and Checkpoint NGX firewalls. A notable accomplishment was moving approx imately 60 hospital business partner connections from Checkpoint to a Cisco VPN solution. As a result, business partners are now implemented much faster, and t he VPN network is now easier to manage with significant ROI. Another success wa s my participation in a major LAN upgrade project; I replaced or upgraded numero us Cisco switches and routers without adversely impacting hospital staff or pati ents. The E.W. Scripps Company--Cincinnati, OH WIDE AREA NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR January 2002 a" October 2005 My responsibilities included daily network support for The E.W. Scripps Company. I installed and configured Cisco routers and switches, Content Services Switch es, 802.11x wireless, Cisco PIX, Netscreen firewalls, ACS, Cisco Works and Visua l Networks Uptime systems. I also maintained Visio topology drawings and circui t documentation. Some major accomplishments included collaboration on the design and construction of two enterprise data centers, and a frame relay migration. In addition, as part of an extensive network upgrade of the Scripps corporate he adquarters infrastructure I planned and supervised the installation of new cabli ng, installed Cisco multilayer switches, devised new IP addressing, and integrat ed a Cisco wireless network. I also designed a Cisco fully redundant gigabit sw itch network for the Cincinnati television affiliatea"WCPO. GE Capital IT Solutions--Erlanger, KY SR. NETWORK ENGINEER (contract) February 2000 - March 2001 I was responsible for the design, and implementation of Cisco Systems LAN/WAN so lutions. My duties were primarily network design, capacity planning, telecom ci rcuit orders, equipment purchases, IP addressing, and documentation which includ ed creating Visio topology drawings. I also performed site surveys, circuit imp

lementations, and Cisco router/switch installations. I provided network support duties that required people skills, trouble ticket management, and RMA expertis e. Successful projects included a frame relay migration of 56 offices in a oneyear period that saved G.E. an estimated 4 million dollars. I also upgraded the GECITS Headquarters network availability and performance by implementing a Cisc o Gigabit Ethernet LAN, and a Metro Ethernet WAN solution. In my spare time I e arned my CCNP and CCDP certifications while at GE. Signal Corporation / Kettering Medical Center--Dayton, Ohio SR. NETWORK ENGINEER (contract) June 1999 a" February 2000 I was contracted to provide network support and consultation for Kettering Medic al Center. This position utilized my experience with Cisco routers and switches . Accomplishments included working on a frame-relay implementation that network ed approximately 30 physiciansa offices to Kettering Medical Center. I assisted with the installation of a DS3 link that facilitated the Grandview hospital mer ger acquisition. I also upgraded nearly 30 Cisco Catalyst switches to avoid iss ues identified with Y2K. I routinely provided daily network support for the mai n hospitals, as well as numerous area physiciansa clinics. Other responsibiliti es included maintaining network documentation, working with vendor quotes, and p ro-active network monitoring. Clover Technologies, Inc. a"Dayton, Ohio SYSTEMS ENGINEER (contract) October 1997 a" June 1999 I was contracted to perform in a Cisco pre-sales engineering role. I provided t he sales department with pricing and bill of materials as it pertained to Cisco Systems. My duties included network design, purchasing, and the assembling and configuration of Cisco Systems routers and switches. I accurately procured and managed the distribution of millions of dollars of Cisco Systems equipment for O hioas Department of Human Services. Computer Sciences Corporation / ASEC --WPAFB, Dayton Ohio COMMUNICATIONS TECHNICIAN (contract) December 1996 - October 1997 As a contractor, I installed fiber optic and unshielded twisted pair Local Area Networks for the U.S. Air Force. Additional duties included site surveys, readi ng blue prints, cable certification, and maintaining cable plant documentation. This job required proficient installation of hardware such as patch panels, and trays using trade hand tools, and advanced test equipment. Major accomplishmen ts included installing a new LAN infrastructure for the Air Force Institute of T echnology, and the Air Force F-16 SPO facility. Electronic Data Systems (EDS)--Dayton, Ohio TELECOMMUNICATIONS ANALYST July 1995 - August 1996 I was responsible for the interpreting, troubleshooting, and documenting complex network problems for General Motors. This position demanded the ability to coo rdinate and track large numbers of maintenance activities with field service tec hnicians and vendors. I performed troubleshooting on dedicated DS1, and DS3 cir cuits. In addition, I provided hands-on technical support for a satellite earth station that served more than 250 banks and 50 mining companies. One major acc omplishment was participating in the migration of 300 dedicated circuits without disrupting GMAC business. Alltel Information Systems--Jacksonville, Florida VSAT NETWORK DESIGNER June 1994 - July 1995 I provided network design and support for a Hughes Network Systems satellite ear th station. I routinely performed traffic analysis, load balancing, and network

modifications for 235 mortgage banks. Accomplishments were continually satisfy ing satellite network performance, reliability, and disaster recovery requiremen ts for Alltelas mortgage clients. This satellite system enabled Alltel to servi ce nearly half of all U.S. mortgages with 99.8% efficiency. Electronic Data Systems (EDS)--Plano, Texas NETWORK TECHNICIAN ADVANCED August 1988 - June 1994 Employed in the EDS Network Control Center to monitor, resolve, and document net work problems for General Motors. This job required complex troubleshooting of landlines, microwave, and satellite communications networks of the worldas large st private network at that time. I coordinated maintenance activity with many t elecom providers, vendors, and more than 400 field technicians. Accomplishments included implementing GM car dealerships and GMAC offices from expensive landli nes to a Hughes VSAT satellite network. MCI Communications--Irving, Texas NETWORK TECHNICIAN II February 1988 - August 1988 I installed T-1 dedicated circuits between MCI central offices and their custome r locations. This work included installing either Newbridge or Rockwell D4 chan nel banks. In addition, I provided quality control testing, and repair services for MCI customers in the Dallas Ft. Worth area. I had to possess knowledge of Sage, Fireberd, and other telephony hand tools. This position required excellen t troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and people skills.

MILITARY SERVICE United States Air Force--RAF Croughton, Northhamptonshire England TELECOMMUNICATIONS CONTROL SYSTEMS SPECIALIST 1984 - 1988 I graduated from the Air Force Telecom Systems Control Specialist course in 1984 . Afterwards, I was assigned to R.A.F. Croughton, Englanda"arguably the most di verse, complex DOD telecommunications facility in the world at that time. My du ties included maintaining landline, microwave, and encrypted satellite data circ uits for various U.S. Government agencies. This position required a Top Secret (SCI) security clearance. I was awarded the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, L ong Overseas Tour, Longevity, and Good Conduct Medals. I achieved the rank of s ergeant and received an honorable discharge from the Air Force in 1988.
