net SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS: Results-oriented, ingeniously inventive, rigorously precise. A fast learner wit h a record of excellence at design challenges in new areas. Take full ownership of my work throughout the e ntire development process. A team player who makes sure that team members have what they need, wh en they need it, the way they want it. An innovator who aggressively seeks and implements ways t o make the design process faster and better. Self-motivated, self-disciplined. Clear, complete a nd concise written and oral communication. Someone that coworkers can rely on implicitly and enjoy wor king with. Major strengths: Hardware design. CAD (CADDS 5, Pro/Engineer and SolidWorks) i ncluding highly complex surface and solid modeling, assemblies, detailed drawings, GD&T. Comput er Programming: Pro/Toolkit, C, Perl. Finite Element Analysis (ANSYS) including large deflectio ns, plasticity, contacts/gaps. Design for rapid prototyping; reverse engineering from scanned d ata EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science; Mechanical Engineering; University of Delaware, Newark DE; 1987; GPA: 3.9 Pro/Engineer Wildfire 4 tutorials, 2008 to present: Basic Design, Advanced Desig n, Detail Drawings, Surface Modeling, Interactive Surface Design (ISDX), Mechanism Design, Design An imation, Behavioral Modeling, Mechanica, Photo-Render, Sheet Metal. CERTIFICATIONS: Professional Engineer, Delaware, March 1997 to present. Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA), February 2011. Certified SolidWorks Professional - Core (CSWP), April 2011. EXPERIENCE: ILC Dover, Frederica DE; Senior Design Engineer; October 1989 - June 2003: Mechanical design; CAD (CADDS 5 and Pro/Engineer) modeling including complex sur facing; finite element modeling (ANSYS); softgoods 3D modeling and flat pattern generation; Uni x based CAD system administration. *Hardware Design: *Mark III Space Suit: Designed composite/titanium brief and transition elements. Brief was composed of a three piece titanium space frame and fiberglass skin. Each transi tion element was composed of two bearing races and a fiberglass skin. Created stereolithogra

phy master core for vacuum bag consolidation of brief. *Joint Services Air Crew Mask: Worked with inspections personnel to take CMM dat a off a face blank conceptual prototype for definition of mask perimeter. Imported data into Pro/Engineer. Modeled face blank, ring channel, lip seal, face seal, and defog d eflector. *Advanced space suit glove customization (80 customizations for NASA): Improved methodology for bladder dipform modeling; time for modeling one customized dipfo rm went from 4-6 weeks to 1 week. Wrote program for generation of glove restraint patte rns that saved two days per customization. Trained CAD engineers in the customization pr ocess. *Designed tooling for fabrication of composite jet engine components: inlet spin ner cone consolidation tool with six piece collapsible core and four sliders, and two sta tor vane consolidation tools. *Designed fuselage for inflatable wing demonstrator with pop-out sheet metal doo rs. Performed ANSYS FEA with large deflections, contact elements and plasticity to v erify door design. *Airships: *420k Tethered Aerostat: Generated 3D model from customer's input. Developed methodology for CAD generation of airship patterns. Developed all basic flat pa tterns for fabrication, detailed patterns and generated detailed drawings. Supervised othe r engineers detailing patterns and generating drawings. *Zeppelin Airship: Worked with customer to develop design for hull and ballonets . Generated 3D models of hull and ballonets, flat patterns and drawing package. *Administered UNIX computer network including hardware selection and installatio n, operating system, networking, and applications (CADDS 5 and Pro/Engineer). Wrote computer programs for support of CAD operations including a DXF translator for Pro/Engineer using Pro/ Toolkit to support communication with automated fabric cutting machines. Resolved problems for oth er CAD users including difficult surface and solid modeling issues, bug resolution and workar ounds. SETI, Montgomeryville PA; Systems Engineer; October 1988 - October 1989: *Wrote computer programs for simulation of infrared artillery fuses. *Designed hardware. *Performed hand analyses of hardware. BP Oil, Marcus Hook PA; Project Engineer; July 1987 - October 1988: *Handled Capital and Improvement projects from definition of scope through gener ation of drawings, bid packages and proposals, and construction in the field.
