23) CULTURE SHOCK o Mazhab As Adelaide has muslim population from all over the world, one will find muslims from different mazhabs. One should be open-minded about this. The differences that may exist such as not reciting the qunut during Subuh prayer is small and should not affect our unity. Friday Prayer Congregation Number Often the jamaah/congregation for Friday Prayer especially at University is less than 40 people. The numbering is a matter of fikh jurisdiction and performing the prayer is more important. Nevertheless, the students are encouraged to seek knowledge regarding the matter. Sometimes there are two Friday Prayer times, an hour apart performed at University. This is to cater for different class hours for the students as well as to alleviate the need for praying space. Again, the students are encouraged to seek knowledge regarding the matter. Time Zone The time in Adelaide is 2 hours advance from Malaysia. For example, 10.30 am in Adelaide means 8.00 am in Malaysia.
