Mezzo-Contralto Doris Brunatti's 2011-12 seasons include performances of Mozart's Coronation Mass in Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall,

Bizet's Carmen, Handel's Messiah, Gardner's Saints and Pioneers, and the World Premiere of Gate's "The Atonement", to name a few. Last season she performed Haydn's Paukenmesse, Handel's Messiah, Mozart's Coronation Mass and Haydn's St. Nicolai Mass in New York City's prestigious Carnegie Hall. The Il Tirreno Italian newspaper said of Brunatti, "She vocally expressed the tragedy both effectively and with great intensity", following her recent performances of Verdi's Requiem in Italy. This is a reprisal of the performance with the American Symphony Orchestra and Chorus. The 2009-10 season included performances of Gardner's Joseph Smith the Prophet, Vivaldi's Gloria, and concerts at Abravanel Hall with The Sterling Singers and a guest appearance performing Gates "Down By the River's Verdant Side" at the National Federation of Music Club's convention. Doris Brunatti's earlier Carnegie Hall performances include Vivaldi's Gloria, Bach's B Minor Mass, and Durufle's Requiem, in addition to earlier engagements with the Robert Shaw founded Collegiate Chorale, wherein the New York Times praised her stating, "...Doris Brunatti, mezzo-contralto, sang with richness of tone and a level of artistry that was unsurpassed." Under the baton of Maestro Keith Lockhart and the Utah Symphony, Doris Brunatti's performance in Mahler's 3rd Symphony was voted "Best Concert" and garnered her national acclaim. The concert was greeted with overwhelming public response and the press said of her performance: "Brunatti has a rich, warm voice, well suited for Mahler".(Deseret News); and, "Doris Brunatti's singing was warm, rich and expressive". (The Salt Lake Tribune) Brunatti was reengaged the next two seasons for performances of Vaughan R. Williams' "Serenade to Music." New York City concert platforms have become familiar domain for mezzocontralto Doris Brunatti. Her debut in Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall with the National Chorale was followed by instant engagements for five consecutive seasons. Brunatti appeared as a headline soloist with the New York Festival of American Musical Theatre for its Live on Broadway productions in the same venue singing hits of Gershwin, Bernstein, Kern, Loesser, Weill, Sondheim, and Arlen. In addition, Ms. Brunatti's solo appearances at Avery Fisher Hall include Mozart's Requiem and Vespers, Haydn's Theresian Messe and Handel's Messiah. International symphony orchestras have demanded Brunatti's incomparable talent. She has stood as soloist before the St. Petersburg Symphony, Moscow Chamber Orchestra, Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, National Orchestra of Venezuela, Edmonton Symphony, Nova Amadeus Orchestra Italy, Utah

Symphony, Phoenix Symphony, Orchestra of St. Luke's, New England Symphonic Ensemble, Pasadena Symphony, Beloit-Janesville Symphony, Sandy City Orchestra, American West Symphony, Intermountain Classical Orchestra, and the Westminster Chamber Orchestra. Brunatti's recent performance with the San Diego Symphony, and Conductor/Composer Julian Wachner received rave reviews. Many of these orchestras, due to her outstanding presentation and audience rapport, instantly re-scheduled Brunatti for subsequent concerts. The Wisconsin Daily News said of her Beloit-Janesville Symphony appearance, "[Brunatti] possesses a rich voice and expressive phrasing...lifted spirits through text and tonality...captivated her listeners." Brunatti is in constant international demand for Verdi's Requiem, Mendelssohn's Elijah, and Handel's Messiah, Brahms and Mahler. She's been a featured with Musica Sacra, Oratorio Society of Utah, Utah Symphony Chorus, Salt Lake Symphonic Choir and the world renown Mormon Tabernacle Choir which was broadcast worldwide, amongst countless others. Brunatti's performances have been nationally televised in Russia with radio broadcasts throughout the Middle East. By invitation, she will return to Russia to sing the premiere of Alexei Vulfov's Symphony on Jewish Folk Themes - a composition expressly written for Brunatti. Future engagements include a European tour and concerts worldwide. Equally at home on the operatic stage, Brunatti has been booked by the Utah Opera, Arizona Opera, Boise Opera, Utah Lyric Opera, Nevada Opera Theatre, Lyric Opera Theatre - UNR, Opera de Maracay - Venezuela, and the Bear Lake International Music Festival. The Idaho Statesman has stated Brunatti's role in Madama Butterfly, "the loveliest duet of the night was the lilting "Flower Duet" with Brunatti as the maid Suzuki...Brunatti's rich contralto was the perfect counterpoint." She has also delighted opera audiences in her roles as Maddalena from Rigoletto, Baba from The Medium, and featured solo appearances in La Traviata, Die Zauberflote, La Belle Helena, and recently in Janacek's Jenufa . Her extensive repertoire includes Carmen, Dalilah, Ulrica, Olga, Niklaus, Augusta, and Wagner's complete The Ring. No stranger to contemporary opera, Brunatti's vocal mastery and characterization in her present undertaking as Lucy Mack Smith, Mother of the first Mormon Prophet Joseph Smith, sets the stage for it's operatic debut. The Crawford Gates epic opera "Joseph, Joseph", is scheduled for it's World Premiere. Additionally, Brunatti has taken part in the premieres of William Call's Isie, A Love Story as Dortha Thisbe, and David Carlson's much acclaimed Dreamkeepers, with Brunatti creating its Grandmother character. As a recitalist, Brunatti is scheduled for concerts throughout the U.S. in the 201012 seasons. She recently sang in Washington, D.C., Illinois, New York, Utah and Nevada. Notably, she was honored on the Salt Lake Tribune's "Top Ten Best Concerts", stating "Brunatti had both men and women wiping tears from their

eyes, because of emotions being so extraordinarily touched." Her performances in Los Angeles and for the Mendelssohn Club in Illinois were greeted with effervescent reviews. A favorite vocalist of award-winning composer / conductors Crawford Gates and Jeff Manookian, each has had Brunatti premiere their original works on numerous occasions throughout the United States and abroad. Brunatti's upcoming recitals will include yet another premiere by Gate's entitled "The Atonement". Recent World Premieres of Gates "O Rose Bouquet" in Washington, D.C. along with her signature piece "Far Above Rubies" resulted in scheduled concerts in New York and Illinois. Amongst Gates other premieres performed was "Brother Dutton, Servant of God". Originating the extensive and demanding solo role in Manookian's Symphony of Tears at the Madeleine Festival, and again with the Pasadena Symphony. Under Maestro Loris Tjeknavorian, Brunatti repeated her performance in the Salt Lake Tabernacle with the Oratorio Society of Utah. This major oratorio memorializes the victims of the 1915 Armenian genocide. Scheduled concerts in Russian venues, as well as in Yerevan with the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra were cancelled due to the 9/11 attack. Possessing a broad spectrum of musical styles, Brunatti has acted and sung in the Broadway Musical Nine, in which she had the lead role as Luisa Contini. Her additional musical-theatre experience includes roles in Showboat, Hello Dolly, Brigadoon, Snow Queen, Sweeney Todd, One Touch of Venus, Lady in the Dark, Company, Roberta, West Side Story and Man of La Mancha amongst others. Brunatti advanced as a finalist in the New York Oratorio International Competition. She was also the winner of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, Wolftrap Opera Auditions and the National Federation of Music Clubs competition.
