Instructions for Admissions

Graduate Admissions Application Instructions for International Students We are pleased that you are considering North Carolina A&T State University for pursuing graduate studies. The School of Graduate Studies at North Carolina A&T defines an "international applicant" as any applicant who is neither a citizen, a permanent resident or a resident alien (Asylee, Refugee, TPS, etc.) of the United States. Where the applicant lives or studies now does not matter. Likewise, the School of Graduate Studies defines "domestic applicants," for the purposes of admissions, as US citizens (including foreign-born naturalized US-citizens), Permanent Residents, as well as those in Resident Alien status to include Asylee or Refugee status. Applicant classification as an international or domestic applicant for admissions purposes is not connected to the classification of "resident" or "non-resident" of North Carolina for tuition purposes. Your application and admission to graduate programs at North Carolina A&T State University consists of a departmental evaluation based on your application, recommendation letters and unofficial copies of transcripts and other materials followed by a final review of all your original documents. All programs require the graduate admission application, application fee, transcripts and recommendation letters. Most programs also require a personal statement and graduate test scores. Some programs have additional requirements such as an on-campus interview. See Programs for a listing of all requirements specific to each program. Please note that satisfying minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission; admissions decisions are often based on a competitive evaluation and sometimes limited by capacity constraints. Please see below for a general list of admission requirements. Departmental evaluation Please submit the following documents as early as possible. It is strongly recommended that documents be received on or before the Graduate Schools Priority Deadlines (March 1 for fall admissions and September 1 for spring admissions).
